Leveled my truck

my gmc sales person measured a 16 slt z71 4x4 on the lot. front was 37.5" from ground to bottom of fender and rear was 40". that is stock so it should be what mine was before the level. i measured mine after the level and its at 38.5" in the back and 39.5 in the rear. so just 1 inch above stock.

Get a flashlight and look in there yourself! You will see the thin spacer under the bottom of the strut and you should see that round thicker one between the top of your coilover assembly and the mount on the truck. If they installed the full kit you should've gotten more lift than you did.

Went by 4 Wheel Parts at lunch and spoke to them. He went out and looked at my truck and said that both spacers were installed. He said they are both on top. That is different than what I was originally told (one bottom / one top). He said they were both on top and they did nothing to the rear.

 

Does anyone know definitively if both spacers are on top or if one is top and one is on the bottom?

 

The Asst Mngr I worked with originally is out today and will call me tomorrow.

where are these notes from? who says it should be upper spacer only?

 

one guy at 4 wheel parts says both spacers are on top.

one guy at 4 wheel parts says one would be installed at top and one on bottom.

multiple readers and other sources online say one on top one on bottom on 2016 models

your notes says upper only. what source?

 

if it wasn't raining right now and i wasn't dressed in a tie at work i'd go under there and try to verify myself even though a guy at 4 wheel parts yesterday went under and said both were on top and nothing was on bottom

There is no difference between trucks. All Z71 gets you is the crappy Rancho shocks. Z71 or no, they use both spacers. There is no possible way for both spacers to go "on top". The round one is "on top" and the thin one with two holes (that line up perfectly with the two bolts on the bottom of your strut) go on the bottom. It is the most simple of things.

that is what is so frustrating about this. seems like it should be simple but multiple ppl thinking they are all the authority on it saying different things. i'll be speaking to the asst manager at 4 wheel parts later this morning to see what he says.

It looks like all they did was the top spacer , if they have installed both on your truck would measures the same front and rear, I would go there and ask them to install both top and bottom. I have the pro comp in my 2014 all terrain!!!

hope to look under there today. its raining outside right now. Just spoke to the asst mngr - he said he was sure both were installed. he is going talk to his tech and will call me back. he did remark that he thought mien was still a little nose down after the install.

 

hopefully i can take a look at lunch if the rain stops.

Here is what a 2015 z71 looks with 2.5" spacers up front only. I plan on adding 1" blocks in the back this summer, its a tad bit nose high for my likings.

Looking at my paperwork now. It doesn't mention any parts installed in the rear. Just the leveling kit, labor and alignment. I'm calling when they open later this morning.

 

Any other pics out there of the 2.25 leveling kit installed?

Mine is leveled with the procomp 2.25 kit, same kit you purchased. There is a spacer on top and a spacer on the bottom. Truck sits just about spot on level.

I spoke with the 4 Wheel Parts Asst Mngr and he said the tech did install top and bottom spacers. Now they are saying that it will look more level after driving another 500 miles or so to give the rear shocks a chance to settle. He said that happens when they work on brand new vehicles with new miles.

 

While it may not be perfect I still think that the front fender flare should be more than 1 inch higher now than prior to level kit being installed.
