Replace Key? (one piece)

I was wondering if there is any way to buy a new key from ebay ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Uncut-Flip-Key-Remote-Start-Keyless-Entry-Transmitter-Fob-For-OHT01060512-/171522354782?fits=Make%3AGMC&hash=item27ef876e5e:g:FrgAAOSwy4hUUVTO&vxp=mtr) and have it reprogrammed by the dealer. Has this been done before?

 

This would be for my 2016 Sierra 1500 Denali.

I don't think they would be able to program that style of key to your denali. Anything I show for a 2016 is a two piece key and separate transmitter and doubt very much that the key in question will be able to accept the vehicles programming.

The "switchblade" key was tried by a member and it hit the shift lever. Not to mention whether it could be programmed as a remote key fob or not. Just didn't fit.

I don't think the OP is looking for just another key...the one he posted the link to is the "switchblade" style used in GMC Terrain...they don't fit in our trucks

I guess I could have clarified it better. I am looking for a one-piece switchblade. I had a feeling that the key may be too short. I guess that's a no.

One of the guys on here had one from his wife's vehicle and when it was extended to insert into the ignition, the fob part stuck out too long so that it hit the gear shift lever. Never got any further.

That makes sense. I was wondering why GMC doesn't offer a switchblade fob.
