Tad loaded, but yet your signature says "2014 Chevy Silverado Airaid CAI, 2" level, Mastercraft MXT 305/55/20 on stock silverado 20" wheels".

so couple tad loaded, 2" higher into the airstream, tires that are over 1" wider than stock and prob weigh 10-15lbs more than the stock tires. If were worried about gas mileage you should have left the truck stock, every mod you did to your truck will cause a loss of gas mileage. Along with that did you have the CM re-flashed for the correct tire size to correct the speedo?

While the speedo isnt calibrated you missed my point. Tad loaded we are talking 300ish lbs in the bed with a closed tonneau.

The before numbers were with the same level and tires CAI and everything.

I am still debating on blaming winter blend gas being that i drove from North Dakota to South Texas climate change could also be a factor.

I didn't buy it for gas mileage.... It's a truck. But there is a point where you scratch your head wondering why it was doing 18avg before and you changed nothing and now its at 14ish.

Only thing i did change were the plug wires to the taylor 10mm.....but i will try the stockers today or tomorrow..... I have to buy some since i trashed the old ones.

No way plug wires would cause that unless you were only running on less than 8cyl. Winter fuel along with colder temps will tank the MPG. I have tested this theory just with temps alone. Anything below 50° and I can see a considerable drop in mileage compared to when it is over 60° outside.

I was averaging 20 mpg with mixed highway and city before my Rough Country level. Now with the 2" raise in the front, I am getting around 17 if I baby it, driving like I got places to be I get about 15 mpg.

5.3 with 3:42 gears, 4x4 no air dam and leveled. toneau cover.

My last 150 mile trip i was in a hurry i did 75-80 the whole way and it was windy. truck barely saw 16 mpg.

pulling 2 sleds in a clamshell trailer up north at 70 i get like 10 up and down long hills

i bet if i did 65 and drove conservativley i could see 20 but no way im getting better

Life of vehicle: 6100 miles (2200 of it towing enclosed 7x12 tandem 70-75mph) 13 mpg

( towing that trailer that speed, it gets about 8 mpg, and it almost never uses 8th gear (well maybe 25 miles of the 2200))

Local driving without trailer it regularly gets 17-20 over a whole tankful.

2015 5.3/3.42 crew, all stock.

Have a commute that's all back roads, with some traffic. Averaging 12-13 mpg or so

GS, that is terrible gas mileage for just riding around backroads. You must have a heavy foot!

5.3 CCSB 3.42 Gears, best of 18.1 MPG and I'm averaging 13.5 MPG. Less than impressed by the gas mileage. Gas mileage played a big factor in my purchase decision. Would have got a Tundra if I knew I would be getting 18 on the highway.

I get 18 bone stock. My foot is heavy though. I drive and accelerate quickly everywhere. When I'm easy on it I get in the lower 20s for the trip like 22-24. 15 5.3 4x4 crew cab 3.42

I forgot to add that I have 2in Rc level in front and removed air dam.

No I actually drive like a grandpa. I do have several stops/starts, traffic lights, and just general sitting in traffic at spots.

But yes, I'm not very impressed with the mileage so far, but it is what it is. I think the rediculous transmission tuning plays a part. The truck is always lugging in too high of a gear, trying to pull hills in 5th or 6th gear at 1k or so rpm. It does not feel very healthy long term for the transmission or engine to be honest. If not for warranty, I'd get a BB tune. No way the trans should be in that high of a gear, on a back road going up a hill without downshifting on its own. Which it sometimes won't do unless i luft for a second, then it will, but reward me with a loud clunk.

I like this truck, but the big black eye to me that's keeping me from loving it is the terrible transmission. On the 14 Honda crv i had prior, that Trans was perfectly tuned. Always shifted great and alwaya was in the right gear.

I wonder if ford's 6 speed is any better?
