99 Silverado - intermittent brake light and ABS indicators come on

99 Silverado with 190k miles - I've had this problem for 8 years or so but am finally determined to fix.

 

Occasionally both brake light and ABS indicator lights come on at the same time.

 

Brakes are fine and have been checked multiple times. Web search tells me I should replace Electronic Brake Control Module Motor Relay Circuit.

 

Do you agree on solution? How difficult for a non-expert mechanic to perform?

Have you pulled the ABS codes? As noted in your referenced thread, one thing to check is the body grounds near the ABS unit. ABS units can be rebuilt if it is called for

ABS control module or it might be called something else just woke up taking a dump reading and replying but anyhow the DIC and abs lights probably come on after a hard brake at a decent speed above 40 mph cause that's the only time it's actually malfunctioning it causes wheel lock up and it's not really noticeable unless you have a really hard brake above 70 or 80 mph anyhow the part is under the truck looks like a brick with brake lines going in it its like 4 or 500$ for a reman you can get a used one for 200$ but then no warranty an you never know how soon it will be ready to fail I want to say it was about mid can maybe toward the front just a hair drives side to mid cAb as well when you see it you'll know give me a second and I'll take picture and post it I replaced mine on my 04 Tahoe cause like you I'd only occasionally get the codes or abs light (once when braking hard from 90 mph to miss deer brakes locked up Tahoe got loose so I mash the throttle to the floor and said **** the deer smoked that bitch to dam thing came uncunted had so much piss and shit and blood all over my truck hadn't seen one come apart like that since I drove big rigs did very minimal damage to my Tahoe as well after that experience I'll never slow down for another one again but I got 4 codes for my brake control module next time it happened I was in the city on the interstate doing about 90 mph had some stupid ****ing bitch driving a tiny little rice burning thing cut me of and put all 10 ft of that car in a 10'1" opening between me and a badass jacked up duramax in bumper to bumper traffic in all four lanes anyhow duramax had to brake hard as said stupid ****ing bitch does this she brakes hard I brake hard and Tahoe got loose again cause the tires locked up that time was. Little more hairy cause of the traffic and had family in car I followed stupid ****img bitch an hour out of my way just to chew her as bust her mirror of said rice burner and flatten two tires with my pocket knife hopfully it kept stupid ****ing bitch of the road for a bit but I doubt it) anyhow got a little of task there it's your brake control module under the truck and it's 400 or 500 $ depends on witch one or where you get it hope this helps sorry about the novel in the middle
