There's no such thing as a crew cab standard bed, only short and long.

I beg to differ.....I have a crew cab standard bed and it has the vibration. The standard bed is the only reason that I purchased a GMC. I could not find a crew cab configured correctly in Dodge or Ford after a 3 state search, although there were a few out there. Toyota is the only manufacturer who does not make a crew cab standard bed (not sure about Nissan).

There are only 2 bed length for the crew cab 5.8 ft known as the short bed and 6.5 or standard bed, but mostly referred to as the long bed. Any ways there are only 2 bed lengths for the crew cab. The short bed crew is the same length as the standard double cab.

The 6.5' bed is called a standard bed on the GM build and configuration website. Also, it is called a standard bed on my sticker. The long bed has and always will be an 8' length. I believe you are correct that an 8' bed is not available on the 1500 series in a crew cab, but it is on a 2500/3500.

GSbowtie....good question. I had 3 great experiences with Ford F150 but leery now. Seems Toyota and Ram are the better choices. It's like a spin on the roulette wheel to find a problem free truck.

Silver ice stated there are crew cab short beds, standard beds and long beds. I am clarifying there are not 3 bed lengths on the GM K2. The standard bed is aptly referred to as the long bed to differentiate it from the short bed, nothing more nothing less.

Perhaps this clarifies what I'm trying to say.

Yeah I was talking about for the people that are reporting the vibration issues are the ones with crew cab short beds and double cab standard beds.. I've yet to hear a vibration issue with crew cab standard bed and crew cab long bed

If you don't have the Chevy Shake, you're lucky.

It's real and there's obviously a manufacturing issue with this generation.

This is my last GM product. Prior GM ownership experience was horrible. Issue after issue. Thought the new GM was different. Nope. Same crap, different look. The only real solution to the Chevy Shake is to sell it to an unsuspecting person or trade it in for a truck made by a better automaker.

well I guess it gos both ways this is my 5th GM vehicle and no issues with any of them.

15 z71...yup, ownership experiences do vary person to person, for all makes.

In the end, I'm not brand loyal. Just want a truck that works well without shaking your teeth out of your mouth. Not too much to ask.

I'm with ye, Bubba. I'll change brands quicker than a New York City second. Won't find perfection, but I do expect some things to be right! Vibration won't be tolerated by me. But, most GMs I've seen look to be smooth as a soap maker's butt.

My first truck, and I tested almost all of them and the Silverado seemed the best to me, but I'm sure a little bit of brand loyalty/nostalgia helped...grew up watching my old man get 19 years and 300K+ out of a Chevy pickup.

Over 14k miles on my 2015 and still happy.

I did swap tires tho for some KO2's shortly after i bought it. I then sold the stockers for a couple hundred bucks on Craigslist.

As a side note. Just for shits n giggles I searched other forums of different makes and found vibe complaints in many of them. Including the "F" and "T" makes!

Recently bought a '16 Crew Cab 4x2 with the 5'8" box. It now has 800 miles on it. Yesterday was the first time I went over 70mph. Guess what? My drink in the console cup holder was vibrating/shaking so badly it was spilling over. No big deal I thought, I'll just get the rears rebalanced. Then I saw the threads on a vibration. Lots of them. Now I am concerned that it may not be that simple.

These forums can be very helpful to the unlucky ones that really do have a problem. Reading how perfect your truck is, somehow does not seem all that helpful.

Mines perfect so far 68,500 miles and going... and I've done a couple mods to make it even better... i would like to to see a truck in person that really dose the V. Not one person I've talked to in real life has ever said there truck has da vibrations for real. I'll keep looking and ask tho.

Mine had em, just not real bad like some members here. Feel bad for them, I really do. Trucks ain't cheap, it would suck to have my dream truck and it gets people sick while riding in it lol

    • I have thought an EV might have some practical value in extending the life of the ICE members of ones fleet. Now....I'm convinced of it. I've been letting my better half access Raven (Mitsubishi Mirage) for her needs while Dizzy has been in the shop. Being the fuel freak I am and given the fact Raven is capable of over 60 mpg in clean air on a warm day I was taken back by the wife's ability to take a car that had used a half a tank of gas that to that point had returned a value of 57 mpg and return in with a decimating 51 mpg for that same tank in that same day in a 15 mile round trip of short hop errands and a stop in the drive through at Micky D's.  😱   Trust me on this. It would take the remainder of that tank driven on the highway to return that tank to just 54 mpg. This is not a Mitsubishi issue. This is an ICE issue that is magnified in vehicles capable of such high fuel economy values. On a percentage basis your 1500 does the same thing. Short hopping an ICE consumes a good deal more fuel and in doing so provides zero additional useable outputs. That entire volume of fuel is wasted in diluting the cylinder walls oil films, creating crankcase moisture and acid content and the resultant wear.    Enter the SLATE. All of that is avoided and the ICE's advantage in range and made useful at reduced wear for your ICE!   Kind'a cool.
    • Back in the day people would buy cars based on performance. The charger posted does 0-60 in 3.3 seconds. And it’s fully loaded.  It has a decent warranty and will fit most anyone’s needs. Remember the original Hemi? 90 day warranty. 25K mini truck or that car? I’d go with the car. It wouldn’t fit my perimeter. If I could just talk my wife out of her Genesis. It would be perfect for her.
    • Let's pivot this back. Someone said they wanted pictures.   Even better, there's already video. Pre-prod prototypes are already on the road and they're letting the press drive them.   JerryRigEverything did a good review. I really enjoy his content and EV adventures, so I was thrilled when he had the chance to review a Slate:
    • The Charger EV was stillborn. Wrong car at the wrong price for Dodge's intended audience. Now at a good price with fire-sale discounts, and still not selling, it's still very much the wrong car. Again, Dodge's intended audience. I believe a lot of Stellantis' EV blunders were all under Tavares' regime at Stellantis...the board convinced him to move on. Neat car, just wasn't received on the level that would sustain mass production.   Dodge is headed in a better direction for its core business. I didn't think there was anything left to get excited about re: the Durango after its 15 year run, but they're just now releasing a 392 version that should price out in the low 40's. Nicely done. I'm not sure I would touch anything Stellantis makes with a 10' pole these days, but the Durango is still mostly parts designed like 3 parent companies ago so maybe it's still OK?
