Doomed to Vibrate??

I bought mine used with 5thsnd miles on it, no issues no VIBRATION, we are actually on our first road trip in it from Texas to Kentucky me and the family love this 14 silverado , my mom and another buddy have one,,no vibration issue

I do have a vibrating silverado that was about 80% fixed by changing and balancing the tires. Don't go on the shake and vibration thread and say your truck don't vibrate, you will get chased out of there! I think it is less than 5% of the trucks have a vibration problem and no there will probably never be a fix.

I've owned my 15 CC Z71 since May of 15. She just turned 5700 miles and is butter smooth at any speed, 70+ mph on the highway and around town. Has never vibrated for me. I love this truck. My brother also has a 14 CC and his is likewise smooth, no vibrations and he's up over 36K now.

Let me see if I got this right. You haven't experienced any vibrations yet, but because you read about them on this forum, you're worried about when and if you are going to get them? Enjoy your truck and stay off the forums until you run into a real problem. This place is full of negativity. I've had my truck for 36K vibration free miles and I'm not the least bit worried about it.

Personally I think this is caused by mismatch of the torque being supplied by the engine for the gear the truck is in.

 

I think the transmissions are tuned to get to high gears quickly, and the engines are tuned for economy. Noticed it at low speed acceleration in auto 4wd a lot with my 2014 4.3l and rarely with the 2015 5.3l I have now in auto 4.

 

I bet with AFM disabled, and shift points tuned to match power output of the engine neither engine would ever vibrate.

 

The 4.3s have the same hp/torque as the old 4.8s, I've never read about them, or the old 5.3s vibrating. Bet it's all tied to the fuel economy tuning.

I would not be suprised if this is the case. I don't like how my truck tries to get in the highest gear possible and ends up lugging the engine, trying to climb Hills at 1,000 rpm. I will get a tune done after I'm out of power train warranty

I could be wrong but now thinking about it... all the guys getting the good vibrations. Are they double cab standard beds, and crew cab short beds... I haven't seen anything about crew cab standard beds.. anyways 14,000 miles on the clock and no vibrations. And even with putting on 24's on with low profile tires. No vibrations.. 1 thing I can honestly say my current wheel and tire set up rides better than the stock goodyears

If you don't have the Chevy Shake, you're lucky.

 

It's real and there's obviously a manufacturing issue with this generation.

 

This is my last GM product. Prior GM ownership experience was horrible. Issue after issue. Thought the new GM was different. Nope. Same crap, different look. The only real solution to the Chevy Shake is to sell it to an unsuspecting person or trade it in for a truck made by a better automaker.

Who is the better automaker? Last i checked there is no perfect vehicle. Ford, chevy, dodge and even the toyota have their issues and all can build a lemon . I've perused Toyota forums and there's bitching over there and guys saying Toyota quality is not what it used to be and there going to buy fords.

F150forum.com same complaints of vibration at highway speeds. Same complaints on tundrasolutions.com also previous gen Tacoma on Tacomaworld.com. Plenty of complaints of vehicle vibration coming from new generation Honda CRV owners as well.

Yeah I was talking about for the people that are reporting the vibration issues are the ones with crew cab short beds and double cab standard beds.. I've yet to hear a vibration issue with crew cab standard bed and crew cab long bed

There's no such thing as a crew cab standard bed, only short and long.
