Doomed to Vibrate??

First-time poster, been lurking for about a month now since I bought my truck. 2015 Tungsten Metallic, 5.3, 6 spd, double cab, LT Z71 with All Star and Katzkin leather.

On to the point of my post, obviously I researched it before I took the plunge, but every now and then I read the threads on the vibration problem at 60-75 mph and get a little freaked out. The topic don't seem to be as prevalent on this board, but some threads and the YouTube videos basically say "If you buy a 2014 or 2015 Silverado, beware, you WILL have vibration problems."

How prevalent is this problem? 1 in 10 trucks, or 9 in 10? Granted, pissed-off customers post a lot more than happy customers, but I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly how widespread the issue is.

I love this truck, and with 563 miles on it I'd prefer to enjoy the next 500 not crossing my fingers hoping I don't start getting the shakes.

Thoughts?

22,000 miles here on my 2014. No vibration so I wouldn't worry about it. If you have it, you have it and worrying about it won't keep it from happening if you do have it. Just enjoy your truck.

Let me see if I got this right. You haven't experienced any vibrations yet, but because you read about them on this forum, you're worried about when and if you are going to get them? Enjoy your truck and stay off the forums until you run into a real problem. This place is full of negativity. I've had my truck for 36K vibration free miles and I'm not the least bit worried about it.

smoothe as butter and I have a level kit and aftermarket wheels/tires. these trucks are solid, I haven't heard any complaints about a vibration and I know a handful of owners in real life. lots of cry babies on the internet

No vibrations or at least that I can tell on any of the trucks I have owned, a 2012 ccsb 4x4 6.2 20" wheels, a 2014 ccsb 4x4 6.2 22" wheels, and a 2016 ccsb 4x4 22" wheels. Good luck!!

The OP may have a valid concern, I think I recall reading a few posts where owners complained of a vibration after putting a few thousand miles on, no?

Just get a solid A/T tire like some BFG KO2s, some good shocks such as Bilstein 5100s, run at least 89 octane, run her hard and don't look back!

Oh and get that crap oil out and give her some Mobil 1 love soon!

You should just ignore the naysayers. Many owners have complained that their vibrations started after a few thousand miles. My truck was noticeable when new, but I assumed that it was related to road feedback and not the driveline. As my driving patterns developed and the number of roads driven on increased, I learned that it was in fact a vibration from the truck and not road feedback. I would not worry about it, but know that there are a lot of issues and no solution at this point for those who have it.

My truck was in the shop for 17 days for repairs. During that time, I drove a rental 2015 2500HD. It rode like a Cadillac compared to my 1500, on the same roads, except for the occasional stiff suspension feedback when hitting bumps. My wife even commented on the improvement, and she is almost incapable of identifying a problem on a vehicle.

Hopefully, you are one of the fortunate ones and the vibration does not develop on your truck over time.

I bought my 15 and then read all this stuff on here. But I'm not worried 7300 miles no vibration at any speed. I'm sure you will be fine.

12000 miles on my 2015 and no issues. In fact I was at the dealership today getting my second free oil change and noticed the 2016 2wd have continental tires and not Goodyear like mine, but again my truck is smooth. My 2011 has the vibration and I hated it.

They sell over 500,000 Silverado's a year, the MAJORITY of them NEVER experience this problem!

The Internet can play mind games with you for sure, and different Brand salesmen know this and are good at what they do.

Are there Trolls here ? ABSOLUTELY! They'll take a real issue and blow it out of proportion. Their on all Forums!

Enjoy your truck, they are great vehicles and will give many miles of trouble free driving and you have a good warranty to take care of anything that might pop up. It's there for your piece of mind, that's why you didn't buy used.

My truck is the best riding vehicle I've ever owned and I'm VERY picky, GM got it right on these trucks, enjoy it!

Mine developed vibration around 15k miles, luckily I got it fixed by getting new tires. Best thing I've ever done. Now all I need to do is clean up this thread of the back and forth attack posts so people only read about the topic at hand...

Well I have a little over 23,500 miles on my truck and I've had it almost 2 years with 0 vibrations at any speed. Even the 1 time I may have got it up to about 97 when the governor came into play.
