Doomed to Vibrate??

I handle Contractor receiving and shipping for a major HVAC firm. Everyday scores of owners show up in pick-up trucks, so I ask them about their trucks. You know not one of the GM owners have said they have the vibration problem! It's a problem on some trucks I'm sure, but maybe not as huge as we might think.

On a side note the most satisfied owners are the GM, then Ford, Dodge,in that order! Toyota is far behind!

Mine had em, just not real bad like some members here. Feel bad for them, I really do. Trucks ain't cheap, it would suck to have my dream truck and it gets people sick while riding in it lol

I don't remember u ever saying that? Well maybe that's why you wanted to trade tires and wheels over a year ago. But on topic I've a 14 silverado drives like my dream truck. I know 5 people that own a 14 + chevy / Gmc not any problems so far. My little brother just pick up a 16 just 1600 miles and he is very happy like e1 I've talked too in reality life it's just funny when someone first post is about the V to me. . I'm sure there are some bad trucks out there... sucks 4 them still waiting to meeting someone thats experience it

One of the hall directors here has a 2014 CC standard box, and she loves it. No comments on vibrations at any speed. My 15 DC standard box has 624 miles on it, most at interstate speed with a couple of bouts up to 90. Smooth as my 96 Cadillac....same for my Dad's 15 CC short box. Stinks for the people who have it, but I'm thinking it's a problem that happens to a small, small portion of owners. And if you think switching brands is the solution, good luck with a Ford....with rusting brake lines.

I have that famous vibration in mine. Been in twice and had 2 tires replaced each time. It goes back in thursday. If they claim its the tires I wont accept another set of Goodyears. Hopfully the 3rd trip in fixes it

First time poster. My 2014 been vibrating since day one and horrible shifting. Been to the dealer more times than its been in my garage. I guess its lemon law time

Now that i got that first post out of the way. I bought a 2014 Chevy silvy rally edition. Noticed on the way home it vibrated pretty bad on the highway. Enough to throw liquid out of the can i was drinking from in the cup holder. Been to my dealer 14 times and chevy customer service 3 times. They said hard shifting was nature of the beast get used to it. And the vibrating was at the allowable amount. (Whatever that means). This is my 5th brand new chevy andvthe only one i had probs with. But chevy cares none to help fix it. Rotate tires, balance drive shaft, the road force balance. Thats its we "certified mechanics" cant find the problem. Then gave up......sounds like i own a ford

Mine vibrates at 120km/h (75mph). I'll have to get it checked at my first service along with a clunky cold transmission and clunking when braking harder to a stop.

Cant believe i was told i bought a 40k$ turd to deal with it. Im at the point i will c if i can get local news to cover this. Funny thing is i have them on camera in my truck with me driving saying man this truck is the worst one we have seen. Yet its an allowable amount of vibration. Come on chevy u got the bailout from the gov. Cant u afford to fix ur mistakes

Enjoy your truck and stay off the forums until you run into a real problem.

I hate to admit it, but this was good advice. Finally got to take my truck on a long drive yesterday and I love it even more. And, it does look like trucks with vibration issues are at about 1% of the fleet, not the 50% you'd believe if you only read those threads.

As many have said though, you've got feel for the poor bastards that fall into the 1%.

Truck shopper here. I've been lurking on here, an F150 forum, and a Dodge forum, looking to purchase my next truck within the next 6 months or so.

No matter which site you go to, there are SOME problems that you will read about with each vehicle. No one makes a perfect, problem free vehicle, not even the Japanese, but if you just take what you read on the forums, you'd go and hide under a rock and dig the old Schwinn out of the garage for daily transportation.

I am by no means making light of problems that anyone experiences, but in my experiences there are some bad vehicles and many more good than bad.

My brother just bought a '15 F150 XL SCab w/EB, and though it runs good, it has a terrible wind noise through the doors, a fairly common problem with SOME them. To me, the biggest plus is the Al body (NO RUST!! what a concept!), but I'm still leery of how well they will hold up over the long haul. And the overall design just doesn't wow me, and I've been a blue oval fan for most of my 50+ years.

For me, the GM twins look better, have nicer interiors, and are a bit cheaper than the equivalent Ford model. To my backside, they ride better as well. The Dodge just doesn't cut it for me. So for me, it will be a GM twin, but until I am ready to pull the trigger, I will continue to lurk and learn!

260 miles yes 260 on my 16 Silverado Already at shop for a vibration that could mix oil and water.... Then I went and put it into Four wheel drive and then the truck went nuclear like 11.9 on that earthquake scale thingy. Also sounded like grinding on decelerating. Already getting the run around. Any suggestions
