hpd562 Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Every thread Ive read focuses on the front suspension. While I will get to replacing my front shocks, it won't be for several months. I would like to replace my POS Ranchos on the rear in the next couple weeks. I'm one of the few that doesn't have a leveling kit, or lift, nor do I want one. So as far as stock height rear shocks who has what? Something that rides better than stock but not super soft and slow. I've looked into Fox 2.0s and the Bilstein options but am torn.
Rawyzf Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 I'd like new rears too. Hate how sloppy the rear feels with what is on there now. I'm stock in the rear, 2" RC level up front. Sent from Tapatalk App - Samsung S6
Bigmac Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Just ordered rear 4600 Bilsteins for my Z71 Silverado. Will put them on this weekend if time. Mine is also stock in all ways
RobZ71LM7 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 I have 4600's on the rear and am very happy. 4600's up front too with a 1" lift block.

schmolf4 Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I just put bilstein 5100's on the back of my '15 Sierra, I think it rides 100% better than those crappy ranchos, I went with the 5100's because I tow a 5000lb camper and need soemthing a bit more stable than the factory ranchos
Rawyzf Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 4600 vs 5100, what's the diff? Sent from Tapatalk App - Samsung S6
KLRV6 Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 4600 vs 5100, what's the diff? Sent from Tapatalk App - Samsung S6 The 4600 is for stock height 5100 series is adjustable in height. I have a set of 4600 series on the way and will install in a week or two. I had a factory rear go bad @9800 miles and was painful to drive in the winter. It's almost like the oil wouldn't flow at low temperatures.

So since I factory height in the rear, I should go with 4600? The 5100 isn't adjustable in the rear is it? Front only I thought. Sent from Tapatalk App - Samsung S6

Zachlovesfood Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I got the Bilstein 5100 in the rear first, and saw an immediate improvement it overall handling like turns and speed bumps. I quickly got the fronts to match, used at the top setting, and am 100% satisfied. The rear Bilstein 5100 are NOT adjustable, but are made to accommodate a rear block that's between stock (1.25") and an additional inch (2.25" block). Hope that helps!
