New Leaf Spring for 2016 1500 CrewCab PN 23287270?

Recommended Posts

Ok, so looking at the spring part numbers for my truck (2015), it appears that GM has put a new leaf spring (PN# 23287270) under the 2016 1500 Crew Cab. From what I can find, the 2014-2015 1500 series all had the same PN# 23208339. Mine has these as it is a 15 CC 5.3 4WD.

Does anyone have any information on the 23287270 spring? If you have a 16, what body configuration does your truck have, leaf spring PN# and does your truck vibrate?

I posted a video showing the difference. Sorry about the numbers, I was in a hurry. Told my wife I would run out and get dinner,, ended up a the Chevy dealer...

2014-2015 All 1500 series seem to have the 23208339 rear leaf spring set.
2016 1500 series Double Cab has the 23208339 leaf spring set.
2016 1500 series Crew Cab has the 23287270 leaf spring set.

My 2016 crew cab standard bed is - 23287270. Same as above

Do you guys have vibration problems with your truck? Thanks for posting about the double cab 16 with the same PN, I guess it would be good to build a list of all the models the different numbers cover.

I'm driving a 2016 Sierra All Terrain Crew cab. It rides smooth as glass. I'll try to remember to snap a pic of the leafs.

My 2014 leafs are noise AF. No vibrations..but noisy. Its at the dealership for a radiator TSB right now, and I'm having them look at the leafs too.

the loaner I am driving is a 2016 Sierra, SLE, crew cab, 4x4, with tow package (has trailer brake contoller), but not MAX tow.

The springs have 23287270 printed on them.

Interesting ... my old 2014 leaf springs made noise.. especially when backing up low speed on uneven ground. Anyway... 5 trips to the dealer and they eventually replaced the springs and shocks. The fix latest about a year, when it sounds came back I traded for a new 2016.

The new 2016 has been perfect for the first 3,000 miles.. and guess what? Yep, the same sounds from the leaf springs have started ( although not as worse yet) Unbelievable.

my 2016 double cab AT springs are 23287270

Not just the '16 Crew Cab.......my '16 Z71 Double Cab also has the new 23287270 spring set............no vibrations at any speed. Cushioning in the 40/20/40 bench seat of the '16 appears modified from the '14-'15 also

Tried that water in the bottle in the cup holder of the armrest test Youtube posts and the water surface does vibrate and the hinged console with crap inside appears to vibrate a bit on a highway with expansion strips but nothing else does! No vibrations felt in the wheel, pedals, or my ass sitting in the driver's seat. Test doesn't appear to be a reliable test of anything other than the mounting of the armrest.

Thanks for the info and pic. I am trying to track down if the spring rate changed between the part numbers.

Does your truck vibrate?

It did. new ring and pinion, rear shocks and four rfbs to get it right... You can tell it still wants to vibrate at speed, but it's on good behavior this week. Plus the Bilstein 4600s seem to have calmed down the sensitivity to small bumps on the road.
