1996 k1500 fuel pressure problem

96 k1500 5.7 vortec. So about 2 weeks ago I replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump. And the fuel pressure read 50psi with the key on engine off. So today I replaced the fuel pressure regulater and found out the truck has the new electronic fuel injection spider on it. After replacing the regulator I tested the fuel pressure and it jumped to 50psi and went down slowly to 20psi. I tested the pressure right before I changed the regulator and it was holding at 50psi. Also the truck runs good when you are on it but idles at at 550-600 but it idle kinda rough and sometimes will stall. Any help would be appreciated.

The regulator is located in the spider. Correct?

Good luck. Mine has no power and breaks up bad over 3500 rpm. New fuel pump,(3rd one) new fuel filter and fpr. No change. Started my issue a few days after last fuel pump. Im done. No codes. Nothing

Have you checked the condition underneath of your distributor cap? I know it sounds crazy but I had the same condition and it was my aftermarket distributor cap. The contacts had melted.

Man I had the same problem. I burned out 3 pumps in about two months before I found the bad ground. Would run fine great psi for about a week or 2 then it would get sluggish and not rev over 3500 rpm
