should i / could i just clean the O2 sensor?

Couldn't hurt. Not sure if they are easily accessible. And I think there are 4 sensors. 2 on each header pipe. One before the cat, and one after the cat.

O2 sensors are not really "cleanable", I would take it to the dealer as all of that stuff is covered under the emission warranty for 8yr / 80k miles.

think the dealer will give me a headache over my intake and exhaust? try to pass blame?

As long as you have a catback then no they shouldn't, if you have headers then yes they could.

UPDATE: dropped the truck off this morning (7:30am).... Got a call (12:30pm) "you didnt tell me you modified the truck. You have a modified exhaust so that voids the warranty. I cannot take a look until the factory parts are back on" i informed him he was wrong and that federal law states that he has to prove that the exhaust is causing the failure. He said he'll "get with the tech guys and higher ups".... this is going to be fun. smfh

I always feel bad going to a dealer i didnt purchase the car from. but might have to do so.

Yea it sucks. It sounds like they're finding reasons to avoid dealing with your truck. It makes me roll my eyes when dealers say stupid things like this.

best part of the conversation.... he says "well im not an engineer so i dont know" my response "well good thing for you i am. And i can tell you a cat back exhaust system will not cause any issues with the cats themselves" shut him up real quick. well see what he calls back with.

UPDATE: Got a call back from the service guy.... says they checked the O2 sensors and are replacing the Cat(s). He said "i cannot stand behind any of your work, anything issues with your cat back are on you" i wanted to call him captain obvious but i restrained myself. So looks like i won the dick measuring contest.

Haha, man that is priceless to read. Sounds like the service advisor is an idiot. How are you going to blame a catback when GM offers a catback system as well, along with a CAI system now too. In other words the tech didn't want to do his job, which is to diagnose the problem.
