Just curious, Did the original parts list in the box have the wrong part number listed also or did the CAI not come with instructions/parts list?

 

 

 

 

The original box just had the install instructions which are vague at best, (for example, there are three different sized clamps and they lump them all together and don't tell you which goes where). No part numbers were listed at all.

Well that sucks. You would think a part that eventually has to be replaced would have info in there stating, only use dry filter part number xxxxxx.

 

I guess that would be too easy huh. :-)

Ya, what is really maddening, is that Canadian GM support has taken weeks and still have not found a part number and GM USA refuses to give the part number because I'm a Canadian. Got a BS reply saying that I had to go through the Canadian support to get anything answered. Seriously, WTF GM, surely someone asking for a part number doesn't violate any treaty / trade laws.

 

Edit: (BTW, another tool that you need that they don't list is a 10 mm socket for the filter box cover).

Sure but the black bowtie number for the 2014's are 23463799. According to everywhere I have seen the front one will not fit on a 2016.

No offense to Alan, but why dont yall delete his comment since it is the first answered question you see on the page, and it would lead one to believe it will work with a 2016. Do not buy this is if you have a 2016. The rear will work, and the front will not. I need to return the item, but i have already put the rear on. You would think this would be changed in the description, but it has not.... see less

It WILL NOT fit a 2016 Silverado which uses a different front grille and size bowtie than the 2014-2015 for which this front bowtie was designed. As others have commented correct part for a 2016 is #23303572

1500 or 2500 & 3500 2016 Silverado? I saw this Q&A and mistakenly bought the suggested 23303572 Front and Back Kit for the "2016 Silverado". Mine is a 2016 2500 Custom Sport Duramax with the Painted Grill and front bumper....the 23303572 kit contains a front emblem that is not correct for this truck. Back one is right on...makes me wonder if this kit, the 23463799, really does work with all non-1500 2016 Silverados since they are not the new 2016 1500 body style yet? see less

The front bowties are different. They are actually the same size but they attach to the grill differently for the 2016's.

The rear bowties are the same.

 

As others have said the nudge bar may or may not fit 2014/2015 but all the other items will work on any 2014-2016 truck (Chevy or GMC).

Even though the filter is far from being needed to be replaced, I'm a guy that always likes to have an extra on hand so when it does need to be cleaned, I can replace it with another and get the original professionally cleaned (the same as I do with my tractor air filters).

Did you ever find the part number for the filter on the gm Cai? I was looking at getting it but was thinking the same thing about wanting to know how to replace the filter.
