Cooper MTP Tires

Recommended Posts

Just put an order in for 35x12.5/r20 Cooper DIscoverer MTP on some Fuel Octane wheels. Picked the tire based on the recommendation of the Mgr st Discount Tire. Tire has only been out a few months so looking for some input from anyone who is familiar with Cooper or the MTP. They look mean, just not familiar and hope I made a good choice!

I haven't run the MTP, but I am a big fan of Cooper. Great tire for the price. In the past (and currently) on my truck I ran the ATP.

My next tire will most likely be the STT Pro.

Haven't heard of the mtp. Years ago I ran the Cooper Zeon all terrain and it was a great tire as far as traction on and off road. But horrible as far as tread life.

Well the MTP's are going back! Great looking tire, but very loud and ride terrible. My guy at Discount Tire is taking care of me but wish they would have worked out. Probably still a good choice for off road use but dont recommend for street/highway.

Any feedback?

Sorry, no help I can offer.

Why not the STT Pro, or you wanting more of a radial?

According to Cooper, the STT Pro would be louder/rougher yet. Im 60 miles on the highway dailey so need something that looks mean but rides like an A/T.

Take a look at the ATP if they have your size.

Def go the Toyo RT route. I am in the same boat as you...wanted an aggressive AT but with MT looks. The RT is truly the best of both worlds. Have about 100 miles on them so far (just put them on last week) and they ride smooth and quiet.

I got them at Tread Depot when they were running a 15% Off special.

I have STT Pro and honestly for a MT it has awesome road manners. Not to loud, only thing is since they are 10ply my mpgs fell..

Their "fit tool" does not give that as a size that fits. Did you get good fitment on the stock 20" rims? Do you have pictures of the finished product?
