Any Prices Given To Those Who Ordered 2017s?

Hey Folks,

I'm curious if any of you who ordered a 2017 Silverado were given a price. As you know, right now GM is giving some pretty massive discounts on 2016 models (almost $8K to $10K off MSRP at some dealerships).

A local dealership has my name on an August incoming 2017 6.2L Midnight Edition and there is a dealership 1-hour away with a 2016 6.2L Midnight Edition priced at $48,900. I was sticking to my existing local Chevy dealership for relationship purposes, but am hoping that I don't get hosed when my 2017 arrives in 30-days. I'm wondering if I'm going to lose all discounts and incentives. So far they have not shared a price with me.

Any thoughts?

Regards,

John

If the current pricing program ends before you take delivery of the truck then yes, you will lose the current offers. The dealer can only use the offers that are currently active when the buyer takes possession of the vehicle.

Thanks guys! I had a feeling that was the case.

I am curious how you can order something and not know its exact price/cost before you order it. I have never ordered a car and just bought from the lot but I would not even order a pizza without knowing how much it was going to cost. I thought on the day your ordered it was the day the price was set.

I always tell my local dealer I want the truck from the other dealer and they get it for me.

They swap stuff all the time between lots.

I'm wondering what the price is going to be for my 17 too. It's supposed to be built this week so hopefully they'll release the invoice to my dealer and I may get a price.

every dealer I went to this week told me it was too early to buy a 17. I love being lied to

I ordered my 16 on April 25th. Dealer called me on June 11th said that the 16 wouldn't be built and changed it to a 17 the same day. Target production week is this week.

Even if your vehicle comes in before the incentives end I doubt that they will apply to the 17s

Yup that is because they do not own them, GM does. At least that is what my dealership tell me. I have also purchased from another lot.

My dealership here in the DC area started ordering 2017s in June. That I know for a fact:-) The 6.2L that I have my name on was ordered somewhere around the second week of June along with three 5.3Ls Midnight Editions.

So yeah, you can order them but they won't give you a price just yet. I was told not to expect any of the incentives/rebates that they are giving currently on the 2016 models. The sales manager told me flat-out that they have to move what is on the lots before any major discounts on a 2017. Not sure how that is going to work out for my 2017 due in 4-weeks. I very well might get hosed. We'll see.

I would like to know for those that did order like in June if they will get theirs basically the day they hit the lots or before or after.

Please feel free to correct me here but the 2016's did not hit the lots until September last year. Some guy on here was saying he had an order status of like shipped or something I thought.

Update on my 17. It has shipped. Dealer says it may get here next week but he's not positive. We did agree to wait till Aug 1st to see if any rebates come out for 17s. As of now there's no rebates for 17s. He did say that the truck will be held for me and my name is already on it. As for price the msrp is $590 more than the 16 I had ordered exactly the same.

Same thing with me. They are waiting for it to arrive to see what rebates they can attach to it.

My challenge is that there is an exact 2016 6.2L Midnight Edition LTZ-Plus nearby out-of-state with an MSRP of $58K but selling for $49K. It's going to be difficult for me to fork-over $59K MSRP for the exact same 2017 vehicle at my local dealer. The sales manager said he would work with me on it, but I really have to see what they can do. To be honest they are going to need to get it down to about $52K-$53K if that 2016 is still sitting up in Pennsylvania.

Maybe they'll deal and maybe they won't. We'll see. But...I suspect that Chevy is going to have to be on it's game this Fall with the incoming 2017 Ford Raptor and the new 2017 F-150s with the 10-speed transmission. They know we do cross-shop these trucks:-)
