New Crew Cab - Experience So Far

Picked up my new 2016 LT Crew Cab 4wd, what a nice pick up. I opted for the deep ocean blue metallic colorway, it will look great with my planned modifications.

While the truck is killer, the AC has been awful. Didn't work when I bought the truck, my sales guy told me it was just a fuse. I was skeptical about this but it was the last day of the 20% off 4th of July deal and I had the better half on board to get a truck, wasn't going to give her time to think about it haha. Anyway took the truck in for AC service, they replaced expansion valve, AC worked for 1 day, one of the seals had been crimped on install. Took the truck back in and they replaced the expansion valve again. This time the AC worked for about two days and went out on me about 3 hours from home. Now the truck is back at the dealer and they have determined that the Evaporator Core needs to be replaced, but the part is on back order.

I spoke with the General Manager at the dealership and let him know the experience I had, he asked how he could make me a happy customer aside from fixing the truck (sales guy offered to top off my tank) and I told him Line-X would be a great start. He didn't even bat an eye and said when I get it back it will have a Line-X bed liner.

I understand things happen, they shouldn't to a new vehicle but it is what it is I guess. I'm glad my dealership wants to make things right, it would be much worse if they didn't.

Can't wait to get my truck back!

All the drama aside. I kinda wish I had the chrome bumpers on my blue truck like yours. It's a great color.27f54b64645fd4dfd82d4b2ce418ba42.jpg

I really went after it because of the locking rear diff (i thought it was manual controlled) and it had leather. I knew that the ride height was gonna be the same. But the sale was good and the price was right with the navi, Bose, etc.

I've been waiting on an evaporator for about a week now. And had to wait a week before they could book me in to look at it. Just my luck it's been the hottest 2 weeks of summer.

Ya I'm not too hopeful that I will have it back all that soon. They did loan me a comparable truck, albeit 2wd but I don't plan on doing any offroad stuff in a loaner anyway. Hopefully we get our trucks back ASAP!

free Line-X? that sounds like a great dealer. Its a shame the supply chain for parts is an issue. The reason a lot of folks buy 'american' is parts are plentiful and cheap compared to imports. nice to hear of a decent dealer though for a change.

great looking truck

it sucks about the a/c, but hey... free linex!

They are definitely taking good care of me, I will be leaving good reviews for them for sure. They're not my local dealer but they're under an hour away and much nicer to deal with overall.

That's what I said, especially since the truck they loaned me is almost identical to mine, less 4wd. But I'm not worried about that at all. I'm essentially driving my truck without putting on the miles.

I wasn't offered a loaner. I'm still driving my hot truck. When they looked at it they said it would be in this week. Going to call Friday and if it's not in yet I'll ask for a loaner.

Sorry about your luck. In in a similar situation, had my truck for 8 days now and been at the dealer 4 times now. Tail lights are intermittent and dealer has no clue what's going on. To top that off had a blowout yesterday and they want $276 for a new tire. C'mon truck has 300 miles on it! Not sure what to do or say to them. At leas they did give me a brand new 16 silverado loaner...

Did you explain to them that the tires are covered under your bumper to bumper warranty? Also, have them check to see if there is a log for Tire Pressure if your truck has the sensors. Somebody else may know better than me but I believe the truck can log this data. My thought here is that if there is and the pressure was within the limits of the operating range it will be easier to prove that the tire was faulty.

Sorry about your truck.
