Rocker panel rust prevention

Hey guys, I'm re doing my cab corners due to rust. However, my rocker panels are surprisingly in perfect shape despite the condition of the corners. I noticed there are holes leading into them under the truck which could let water in/out of the rocker panels. Should I throw some silicone in there to seal them up or do you think that would cause more problems? It would keep water from getting in but also keep it from getting out. It would worry me if water would somehow get in and not be able to get out. Has anyone done this?

Don't seal them, cause that will hold moisture in there and accelerate the rust.

Any suggestions on how to prevent rust from forming on the inside of them?

When I put new rockers on my truck I'm considering having the inside and outside sprayed with Linex.

Spray some sort of oil in the holes for a coating, excess will run out and not block the holes.

I oil undercoat, I spray my mix inside all the panels and let it drip out.

It's messy, but it solves the problem...use NEW motor oil, or used ATF, used gear oil, or used hydraulic fluid.

I found that exact liquid wrench stuff at auto zone. Says "rust prevention" on it so ill spray the stuff in tomorrow. Right now here in PA I don't need to worry about corrosion too much but in the winter it can get nasty. Some winters barely throw anything at us but some are pretty darn salty

Use Fluid Film inside the rockers.

If you haven't oiled yet, blow compressed air (with blow gun) into all holes, every spot you can find. You'll be amazed at all dirt, leave pieces, and crap that comes out. Do that few times !
