Mounting a flag 2015 silverado

I'm looking to mount two flags in the bed of my truck. My truck build is a dedication to first responders so I have a thin red line and thin blue line flag that I want to fly from the truck at car shows. I'm not a handy man what so ever so working with wood I have no clue what I'm doing and I wanted to avoid drilling flag pole mounts to the bed. Any ideas?

While I am very patriotic, I beg you to reconsider doing the redneck "hey look at my big bad truck with a big flag in the back" thing. I view it as being disrespectful to the flag. Just get a nice decal/sticker and put it on your back window and keep it looking nice. Are you going to let the flag touch the bottom of your bed? That's just like letting the flag touch the ground. Are you going to keep the flag lit at night if you keep the flag in your truck at night? That too is a no no. I mean no disrespect to you or anyone else who likes to fly the flag, I just ask that it be done properly and with dignity and respect. Again no disrespect meant.

I'm not flying my flags to be looked at. I'm flying my flags in honor or first responders. I know the "rules" for the flag and I wouldn't do anything against the "rules". My flags are only for shows to honor first responders. It's not like a daily driving thing happening.

Could you put a 2x4 or 2x6 in the rear bed slots (interior sides of the bed) and mount your flags to that...as long as it's not highway speed, that should hold them just fine...no drilling of the bed necessary.

I actually found a picture of someone doing that only using the 2x6 as a bike rack. I went out a little while ago and got all the parts to rig it up. I just don't want it to look half assed so I'm going to paint the 2x6 black and maybe throw some decal on it to clean it up and make it look like a factory option type of thing.
