8.1 with excessive oil consumption

I have a 2005 fleetwood motorhome

 

8.1 vortex 27k miles

No signs of oil leaks

Not blowing blue or grey smoke

Power is good

 

I'm using up 2 quarts or more within a 200 mile trip.

 

Any ideas ???

You say it is NOT blowing blue smoke? If not burning it then it is blowing it out going down the road. Check the PCV system first.

I'd bet dollars to donuts that the valve seals are bad in it. GM at one time used just cheap plastic umbrella seals. We always installed the TRW ones that were more of a nylon type material and they really helped on oil consumption. Hope this helps.
