Sidewayz Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 So I finally just had the muffler welded in. Kept the flapper valve and resonator. Not impressed with the sound. Will removing the resonator give me a much louder sound or will it be obnoxious? Looking for info from anyone running the same combination. Thank you in advance
Rawyzf Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 I thought the 40359 sounded really good with no resonator and stock headers. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Sierra Jon Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Do you have the valve pinned open for now? That makes the biggest impact. Also my 40359 got louder for about a week. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk I have to do that. I was going to do it tomorrow morning. I thought the 40359 sounded really good with no resonator and stock headers. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk I may have to do that this week. I can probably do that at home with two clamps and my cutoff wheel and add a length of pipe.
Rawyzf Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 This is the 40359 with no resonator. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Sierra Jon Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 I still have the resonator but I may take it out soon. The valve I just have a nail in it propping it open. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
cbrsilv15 Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Def clamp the flapper open. If it's not loud enough then you can cut out the resonator.
Sidewayz Posted October 30, 2016 Author Posted October 30, 2016 Will keeping the flapper open give it more sound??
Sidewayz Posted October 30, 2016 Author Posted October 30, 2016 I have a 5.3 not 6.2 just for clarification
Sidewayz Posted October 30, 2016 Author Posted October 30, 2016 Yes. Thanks for taking the time to get back to me

cbrsilv15 Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 I added a Borla sport GMPP muffler and was really disappointed with the sound. Super quiet. Went the next day and cut off the resonator. Still quiet and thinking I just wasted money. Decided to clamp my flapper valve open and it was night and day. I wish I cut it out to begin with but mine sounds perfect without the resonator. FYI Borla told me to leave the flapper on. Don't do it! Lol.

Clamping it open tomorrow and probably removing both on Tuesday
Silver ice 6.2 Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Why is your voltage so low? Why is your voltage so low? Normal
