Wow! this is amazing!

In the beginning of August, I installed the new valve cover per the TSB and also installed the Range.

I have over 2800 miles on the engine since last oil change and it is still at the top circle. (full)

I also have been keeping track of my fuel mileage using the gallons on the pump and the mileage from the odometer, not the trip meter.

I have been getting steady 16.9 - 17.3 mpg and filled up yesterday and I calculated 17.7 mpg. That is amazing since I have a 3:73 rear end.

I wonder if maybe somehow my driving habits have changed, or maybe the engine just runs better on all 8 cylinders?

With over 71,000 on the truck the engine is getting a little dusty and dirty. Is it possible to wash it off so it doesn't look so bad, or should I have the shop do it the next time I have the oil changed?

I have always rinsed off our motors with the hose on spray mode when they need it. IMO do it when the motor is cold, no reason to douse a hot, warm motor, radiator with cold water.

If necessary use a cleaner, like Super Power. X2 txab and pressure washers. :happysad:

With a cold engine I spray the whole engine bay down with simple green, let it set for a couple minutes, then spray it down with the shower setting on my hose. Start the engine to get all the water off the belts, then blow all the water out of everywhere with my air compressor. Finish it off with Stoner's trim shine.
