Faulty Accelerator Pedal

I'm on my second gas pedal from Chevrolet. At first, the gas pedal starts to squeak and then I notice a lack of responsiveness from the pedal and throttle. Anyone else have this issue? I have been making it about 4K miles before the pedal starts to squeak and I get the sluggishness. This time the tech said it was a faulty accelerator pedal which doesn't really give me a warm fuzzy feeling.

The worst part is the pedal isn't really a gas pedal per se. They call it a throttle position sensor and it can't be lubricated because it's an electronic sensor. Just curious if anyone else is having this issue.

Many of us have reported a flexing throttle assembly. Press it with your hand and see if you get travel of the assembly itself before actual throttle engagement. It's easy to see usually about 1/2 inch of dead travel. It has been repaired by shoving something behind it. I used a paint stick. Worked great. Just something to check.

I saw that thread. Not sure if I'm willing to do that as they will probably void my warranty haha.

You could just shove a piece of paint stick behind like I did, if you're concerned about the warranty just pull it out.

It only takes like 30 seconds

Thanks. I will contact you if the problem starts to happen again. At this time, they replaced the pedal and there are no symptoms.
