Taking truck to get detailed

I'm taking my truck to a local guy to get it detailed. I was going to have him clay the outside and do a full detail and wax. Is there anything special I can have him do for the winter months as this is my daily driver? Thanks in advance for any info.

Wax wont do shit. You need a paint sealant. Clean, clay, polish and seal.

 

Wax is for the shine, sealant is for the protection. You can always wait 12-24 hrs after the sealant cures and top it with a wax.

 

 

 

Typical wax lasts 3-4 weeks.

Typical paint sealant lasts 4-8 months.

In my opinion even a sealant won't make it all the way thru the winter months. With regular washing and spray wax to help boost protection, then, maybe.

Well, wax will only help to protect. It's better than nothing. Granted it doesn't last as long as a quality sealer, but it will still help protect the paint to some degree.
