08 Sierra Denali: What is the real fix for driveline clunk?

I've read too many articles to count about greasing the slip yoke and not greasing the slip yoke per GM. What is the end all fix for the slip yoke? Nickle plated or what?

Lol a non gm truck is the permanent fix. Mine has done it sense the day a drove it home.

  Sitting at my parents house are two older diesel trucks not only getting the same fuel mileage that the mini diesel gets. But both have pulled a 14K tractor on a 7K gooseneck trailer. A 2000 Ford one ton diesel and a 1998 3/4 ton 5.9 Cummins. All original. I’m certainly not complaining about the power of today’s trucks. But the additional quest for fuel mileage and the additional pollution devices have taken reliability down to half what it used to be.

  Speaking of stupid arguments, why haven't fuel economy standards been rolled back. Or if nobody is going to enforce them, why havent auto manufacturers saved themselves a bunch of headache by reverting to naturally aspirated 6's and 8's in everything again without any of the "30% more expensive" stuff?

  Newby here on this particular forum but a longtime Chevy 2500 owner. I recently bought a 2023 1500 5.3. Never having had start stop, I found it really annoying and really do not like the DFM. To avoid dismantling the dash, I went with Range Technology to disable both of those. It connects in the engine compartment at the ECM connections by the left front fender just ahead of the tire. 10 minute job and it has worked flawlessly since last year. Good luck with your fix.
