what a difference between trim levels

So i dropped off my slt all terrain for its first oil change and a few piddly little issues last night, one of the issues is a noise at cold start so the dealer gave me a loaner while mine is in the shop. So I assumed I would get a little econocar but really didnt care since it is likely for one day. But they had a new 17 elevation edition extended cab for me instead which pleasantly surprised me. So it is a base model truck w/ 4.3L and floor shift transfer case. I was shocked how little this truck has in common with mine. Very little besides a few switches is the same in the interior as my SLT. The truck is a lot louder inside than mine, I assumed it would be the other way around since mine has a sunroof and rear slider. I will say I underestimated the 4.3L though it really isnt that under powered for a v6 in a full size truck.

The 4WD is mechanical and located on the floor, not a knob on the dash

Even from my SLT All Terrain to my father in laws denial (both '15) the leather seems way nicer in the denali and of course the magna ride suspension. Everything on the inside is the same except seat coolers, which i wish the all terrains had an option for.

I have the 4.3 in a well optioned SLE 4x4 CC. I agree that it certainly is not "under powered". The engine is designed to more than handle the power and speed required for the trucks specifications. Anything more is simply a bonus!

I was torn between the painted bumpers and the vented seats. Decided the bumpers would be an easier and cheaper mod than the seats, and it was going to be a month or so wait for an AT to come in. Went with the slt without the AT pack since it was on the lot. I've used the vents a few times during summers but they're nothing to write home about; on the flip side I think about trading for an AT with matched bumpers on almost a weekly basis lol.

The no sunroof and no vented seats are the only things that kept me from a 6.2 all terrain as well. I honestly use and like the cooled seats and moonroof way more than I thought I would. I do wish I could get a Denali without the magnaride so I could have the best of both worlds (I was not a big fan of the suspension system)

Pop the sunroof and open the back window up a little, throw a kayak in the back, and that's my favorite way to ride lol.

Yeah, cracking the sunroof and opening the back creates a great airflow without blowing stuff around like opening windows.

Just got a call from the dealer looks like I have the loaner for another day. I sure miss my hvac controls and stereo from my truck vs the plain jane.

I guess it depends on where you live. In Georgia, it gets so hot and humid, that I would trade every other option I have for my seats to cool my boys down. Especially after working outside all day.

My seat gets cold fast which is great when it's 100* out , BUT I have to shut it OFF - I don't like sitting on a cold seat on long rides

- so it's off & on for me - as needed
