Hello,

Just purchased a 14' Silverado. I can't seem to find anyone else besides one YouTube video with the exact specs of my truck.

It's an LT - Z71 - v8 - 4x4

Now, it's got everything here, but it's a double cab. Also, every site I've visited has said that the LT is a v6 model.

Am I missing something here?

The LT comes standard with the v6. The v8 is listed as an option. Perhaps the sites aren't looking at the options that are equipped.

From what I understand, the 5.3 is the volume seller. If you pop the hood on 100 trucks, it'll probably be in more than half. As far as 4x4, I'm sure that depends on region, but I'd be willing to bet that more than 50% of trucks sold to consumers would be equipped. The z71 probably isn't quite as popular, but with sales numbers like GM puts up with these trucks, we're still talking about a ton of trucks. The double cab is probably the second most requested configuration behind the crew cab.

Basically, everything you have listed sounds popular, as least from my experience here in Wisconsin. For example, my truck is exactly the same, with the exception of the cab. I have a crew cab. When I was buying mine though, there were at least 15 on the lot that matched your description to a T. I don't think there was a single v6, and no 2x4 either. Again, regional differences are huge. We get a lot of snow, MOST people don't want to deal with a 2wd truck in that crap up here. I'm sure they'll order one if someone asks, though.

Check with GM and see if you can get a build sheet for your truck. This will provide you with a list of the features on your particular truck. Also, on your glove box door is a list of codes which identify features of your truck.

Not sure what your question is, but LT Z71 5.3 4x4 trucks are a dime a dozen.

I took a picture of the rpo codes in my glovebox and went through them line by line to figure out exactly what I had. Wrote them all down and put it in my glovebox folded up with my manual.

Basically, multiple sites are claiming that the LT is a V6 model predominately, couldn't find info on the V8. Just curious because I can't find any LT Z71 V8 in my area besides the one I picked up. Clearwater, FL.

See, where I'm at, everything is a 2x4, V6. Out of the 25-30 I browsed through, 20 were a V6. Now, I was looking used, but still.

I understand now.

Dealers in our area stock a lot of the V6 trucks just to have a "cheap" truck on the lot. They are the ones that they advertise the low price with, then get you on the lot and upsell the V8 to.

There is a reason that 20 out of the 25 trucks you looked at had the V6.....V8 trucks sell easier. When I bought the 2015 new, I was looking for a used vehicle. I would not take a look at a V6 regardless of price. God knows the salesmen tried to push them.

This is true. I actually sent this one back and got a 2014 DC LTZ - 4x4, V8. The other one was loaded with rust that I didn't see at first.

Can you even get a V6 with a Z71 package?

I just built one. I think they would be hard to find on the lot at dealers, but according to the GM website it is possible.

I was originally going to be a smarta$$ and state that of course...in a colorado/canyon haha

I don't see Z71 or 4WD on your list. According to the GM build you can't get a Z71 V6 and all Z71's are 4WD. No?

There is no problem with the 4.3 V6 as a base engine at any trim level, imo. It far out performs the big V8's in the 4x4 3/4 ton Crew long beds of the 80's! I was fortunate when looking for my last truck as I wanted the V6. The selection was good and prices were great!
