Wow, IDK what to think. I guess I have never heard of GM attaching the wire for tt charging from the factory. Perhaps it was done by the dealer or and RV place. I guess you should look at the wiring diagram on the inside of the fuse box lid. On mine it does show post 1 and the fuse as TT chg. I also found a wiring guide online in PDF form. I don't remember where I got it. If things were connected right your remote start should not be tied into the TT chg ckt. On my truck there is a second post for AUX ckts - it also has a separate fuse location. Technically the circuit should go like this = B+ to FUSE to POST to Rear Connector and nothing else. The only think I can think of that might be different is the dual battery setup. Did your friend's truck also have dual bats?

 

I guess to troubleshoot this I would start with the B+ end of the fuse block and work out - use either a DMM or a simple 12V light probe.

Friends truck did not have dual batteries. I stopped by the remote start guy. He picked everything apart. I have an extra wire on post#1 he quickly traced it to a block behind my second battery.

 

He also quickly verified a bad wire.

 

So, myself, 2guys at r.v. shop, owner of remote start place, my friend and his truck.....God! I bought wire, fuse holder, terminals, loom, etc. To take care of this business. Not my first choice.
