Tuned trucks with High mileage?!

Original Post: Just wondering who out there has their 2014+ tuned and has high mileage on the truck.

Just curious about the longevity of the trucks with tunes. Seems like if the transmission is cleaned up and a couple ratios are changed to improve timing and such it would result in a longer lasting truck... just wondering if anyone has any real world experience with a lot of miles on their tune.

Know of a few guys with 30-40k on their tunes... but wondering about higher than that. Any issues?

EDIT 1/24/17:

So far the results provided in this thread back up the assumption that these tunes can help result in a long lasting truck. Have yet to hear of any trucks over 200k miles (even older trucks) other than a cummins diesel.

So far we have 2014+ trucks with tunes installed from 20-70k miles and still running great.

AND the only warranty denial is for a battery (which apparently isn't covered as it's a "wear and tear" item.)
We also have results of trucks with over 100k miles that are previous body styles that run and drive "better than new"

So it sounds like these tunes keep the truck driving well for a long time! Keep the feedback coming!
Good/bad reviews welcome.
ALSO - If you have been denied any warranty coverage based on these tunes, please share.

Do older trucks count? 04 GMC hypertec max energy tune, K&N cali, true duals 180K when traded. 06 trailblazer ss tuned for 100K when traded in. Still have a 92 Chevy whipple with a tune to name few. Had a 1/2 dozen trucks with a tune some with a s/c not counting deisels, never had a tune related problem. The truck that a tune made the best change in drivability was my 14 GMC, got rid of the V4 and help the transmission big time.

I'm at 67k on my truck with a tune and have had 0 issues. It's a 2014 Silverado.

Same as above, 68k miles. Have had a tune for the past 28k miles, truck runs better than new, no issues. And I tow a lot and put her up wet most of the time

I have a Diablo Intune with a custom tune from Lew. I still smile when I mash the go pedal!

I also have a Diablosport inTune but no custom tune, just changed some parameters manually to what I felt suited my driving style/ needs

Would you be willing to do a review on the whole process/ custom tune itself. For all us future diablew customer?

Awesome feedback guys!
Exactly what i thought I would hear! I have friends with diesels that have been tuned for over 100k miles... but I have never owned a diesel. I just stick with the trusty 5.3

And older trucks always count! (ESPECIALLY WITH 180k MILES!) Same engine!

Well, it's been almost 2 years since I got the tune, so I can't say if the process itself is the same, or any slower or faster.

Without contacting Lew, I purchased a custom tune from the website. If I recall, I'd already done the data logging, as I wanted the tune as quickly as possible. I sent the data log files to him and received a response within minutes. He sent me my first tune the following morning.

Was able to get the WOT log to him a couple of days later, and had the final tune the next morning again.

All said and done, it was 5 days, start to finish, though would have been sooner if I had been able to find a place to do the WOT logging.

While I can't say his tune's better than a BlackBear tune, I definitely will tune my next truck once I drive this thing to its grave.

FWIW, I tried the Hypertech High Octane tune, was getting some detonation so removed it and went with the regular fuel tune. Most of the time, I run 87 octane fuel but will top it off with premium every now and then or 89 octane (mid grade) when I see it available. My experience in engine building is change the oil at regular intervals (I do it every 5000 miles) and pay attention to detonation. Detonation is the killer, not only on the pistons/rings, but it beats up the rod bearings. Often it is hard to detect and can only be diagnosed by looking at the plugs. Don't rely on the factory knock sensors either. If you hear it, let off the throttle.

17k miles on the truck, 1.5k are with the BlackBear tune, running 89 octane.

Highly recommend either canned tunes or a custom tune to suit your transmission needs on these '14-17 GM trucks.

If you dont mind, keep me posted on how the results turn out. I contacted him a little while ago and should be starting the process soon as well.
