Voice Dialing Issue..

Recommended Posts

Today, for some odd reason, my truck will not recognize the voice command "Call". For example, if I say "Call billy Bubba at work", it comes back asking for the type of DESTINATION I want...

I unpaired my phone, deleted it from the truck, deleted intellilink from the phone's memory and re-paired my phone numerous times---and tried this several times. It always pairs successfully.

I can take my phone and dial a number from the phone, and it pipes through the truck.

Pass through is working... i.e. I can long-press the steering wheel button and send a text via my phone.

I can dial a contact if I select it from the vehicle's screen. For whatever reason, the truck refuses to respond to a voice command when I ask it to "call" a contact, and asks for the "type of destination" instead...

Anyone experienced this?

At this point, i feel the only option is to get the radio re-flashed and hope for the best, OR, something else is hosed up.

Worked fine yesterday...today? no dice. My phone has had no updates in software since it last worked.

Frustrating... any wisdom out there?

May be a silly idea, but did you re-sync your contacts to the truck after you deleted everything and re-paired the phone?

I was getting frustrated with my voice commands not being understood. The more clearly I said "call" and the number, the more frequently it got it wrong. One day I simply blurted out the command and number, with no effort to sound slower or clearer than normal. It worked great!

uhhh, no. How exactly does one do that?

I've never erased and un-synced everything, but on initial setup I had to check it on to get my contacts list from the phone.

This is for a 2015 Sierra under Bluetooth settings for the intellilink on an iPhone 6plus, I don't know if it helps or will apply to your vehicle/phone. Worth a shot.

I had the exact same issue with my 17 for the past week. I'm not sure what phone you're using or if it even matters but mine is an android. This morning I went into settings/Bluetooth on the mylink in the truck and deleted my phone. Then I re-paired it and now all my voice commands work again. This is the second time my truck has done this in the 6 months I've had it.

mine does that if i was using navigation, if you look at your screen in the cluster you will see a different screen when she asks for destination or address or other, just use the arrows on steering wheel to scroll to the line llit in blue reads number, before pushing talk button then she should ask for number. I hate the bitch, she never understands me unless i talk like a spas from revenge of the nerds. :ughdance:
