Hello all, want to hear your experience with Ultra Wheels. Especially if you have them on your truck.

Give me an idea of their quality, customer service, etc.

I'm just a bit miffed at them right now.

I literally ordered a set for my 2017 Sierra in early November through one of their dealers.

I was told after the order that there were only 3 in the whole country and therefore they'd have to order a new set of 4 and they'd be in sometime in mid January.

I called the dealer around January 11-12 to follow up to see what my status was. He called Ultra and was told, "we are still on schedule for mid January"

Great so I figured I could expect them in the next week or two at latest.

Called the dealer yesterday to see where I'm at since it's been about two weeks.

He called Ultra yesterday and was told, "we haven't ordered them yet, we don't have a large enough order for that wheel to make more of them"

 

I was like WTF?

I told the dealer, so they are prioritizing customers based on popularity of the wheel ordered???

If you don't order one of their top wheels you and your order gets kicked down the list and screw you, you just have to wait?

Dealer said, "kind of sounds that way doesn't it?"

He said he'd contact them again today to see if he can talk to someone else at the shop about it.

 

But here's my problem, why the F would you tell your dealers mid January in early November, if you aren't going to actually get it by then?

And then to add insult to injury, in early January, why the F would they tell one of their biggest dealers that they are still on schedule for mid January if they haven't even put the order in to make the damn wheels yet?

I mean even if they put the order in TODAY, they, like almost everything else in life these days (thanks to screw the America and American's manufacturing policies for the past 20 years) are made in China, so I'd have to wait for them to be made, then clear customs, then reach the dealer, have the new tires mounted and balanced and then shipped to me. That's probably at least another month.

That's BS to treat customers like that.

 

I just wanted to see if I should dump Ultra all together because of their piss poor customer service and prioritizing orders based on popularity, both of which is a terrible way to do business. But if others tell me their quality is great and they've been happy with them, maybe this ordering issue is an anomaly and not normal.

Well I was told today the Ultras were ordered last night and began production today.

But decided that their piss poor customer service in handling this for the past 7 weeks while I've been waiting was enough for me to say F them.

I ordered a different wheel (TSW's Black Rhino's). Only negative is with the new wheels/tires I will be adding a mere 1 lbs to each wheel/tire over stock set up, where with the Ultra's I was actually dropping 8 lbs per wheel/tire. I was hoping the 8 lbs drop would offset the 1" taller tires I am putting on for performance and gas mileage. Now I'll be adding 1" of height and 1 lbs in weight. Oh well, it's a 4x4 truck, that's not really that big of a deal.

But the new wheels are quite a bit stronger than the Ultra's and rated for like 2300 lbs per wheel, so they say.

Plus I actually like the new Black Rhino's look a bit more. Even if all was equal, had I seen the Black Rhino's 7 weeks ago, I'd of picked them over the Ultra's.

 

Best news is they are in stock and I should have them by early next week.
