Also, what does the flapper do when you disable afm? I haven't tied my open.

I had a Bully Dog on my last two trucks, loved it

but it wont work on my '17

want to buy it?

Will it work on a 2014? How much?

This intune takes a while to update compared to the old edge cts I had. Box says it was manufactured April 2016, had several updates to install. It's been about and hour and a half, still waiting. Hoping I can get it tuned up to try on the fishing trip tomorrow.

Got it all squared away, the device got hung up on the restart after updating. Unplugged it and plugged back in, all updates had been installed.

I'm running the firm shift and diablo canned tunes. I set throttle boost to +15%, turned off torque management and afm; truck drove good before, but man it sure is a lot smoother now. Doesn't seem to be hunting for gears and most of the clunks and hard shifts associated with afm have been remedied. I liked how it drove before minus the afm. I can't imagine what a tune from Lew will do to it. I'll probably go that route once I have finished a couple other mods.

Also love the flapper squeak is gone lol!!

Gas mileage went up between 3-4 mpg on my first trip, jury is still out until I run through a full tank with the tune to see the overall average. That trip was mostly highway driving, I was pleasantly surprised the mileage went up without the use of the v4.

You still liking your Diablo?

You still liking your Diablo?

Yessir. Driving to work this morning I actually said to myself it was the best investment I've made for the truck, even though no one will ever see or appreciate it but me.

I get mine this week. Are you using the 87 tune? Or the diablo tune?

And what fishing kayak are you sending these messages from.... I do love my Hobie Pro Angler.

Does anybody know: If I load back up the standard TCM tune and the standard ECM tune does the transmission go back into learning mode?

I was running the diablo tune and switched to 87. Turned afm off, throttle boost 15%, firm shift, switched 1-2 2-3 and 3-4 shifts a little too.

PA's are nice! I'm a river rat and a PA would not work well for me. I've got a Jackson Coosa HD and a regular Coosa for smaller creeks. 87f719f28aaa27500f8b2ed3fe8af485.jpg

I noticed that the shifting was a little rough on the downshifts for my liking. I usually drive with the radio off and could hear the transmission making some noises, nothing terribly loud or alarming, but it would downshift and make clicking noises I wasn't accustomed to. So I just turned AFM off and left all other tuning the same.

I also am a river rat, don't live near any oceans. The pro angler is a great toy. It is heavy though.

I changed the shift pressure I think it was on the first few gears and it seemed to help a lot. It's the smoothest driving it's been now since I bought it new.

I'm not sure about the learning mode thing, I'm going to take the tune off for an oil change to see wha it does next week.

I doubt the trans will go back into a "learning mode" since restoring the backup places all the last parameters back in the TCM. Of course, I suppose the ECM/TCM are always "'learning".

BTW, Natives are the best yaks LOL.

Natives Suck! No no, just kidding. I was very impressed with the Natives too. In fact, I love how you can kick the pedals up and out of the way.

I have a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 4X4, 5.3L, 6-speed trans. I leveled it and want to go with bigger tires. I bought the Diablo I2 thinking I could add a custom tune and change the tire size all at the same time.

Well, what I didn't realize is that Diablo doesn't support 2017's yet because GM "made it harder to tune the ECU for 2017." So I've had a brand new $399 tuner for six weeks waiting for Diablo to come out with an update to support the 2017 5.3L. Today I finally heard from them, not about when the tune will be available, but that I won't be able to change my tire size due to the 2017 "restrictions" or whatever.

Are there any other tuners that work on 2017 GMC's? That will allow me to change my tire size and also add a tune (turn AFM off, add a few HP, get better mileage)? It looks like I might as well have burned $399 for all that the I2 is going to do for me (if it ever gets an update to even work on a 2017.)

Let me know if anyone has a 2017 and has had luck with another tuner. I'm getting tired of Diablo.
