try some additives with upper end lube and other cleaners.

the other oddity is amperes. Start swapping lights to LED.

interior is easy, up overhead in the cab.

95 is the last of 15psi fuel, so it is not going not be perfect in all weathers anyway. Especially cold.

I love those years cold starts however. :)

@Barry G what are you saying about the 15psi fuel is that a good or bad thing? I have a 95 k2500 suburban with a 454. Been trying to pinpoint the source of popcorn I have. This nuance backfire is only during deceleration mostly above 30 mph, and early morning cool starts. What do you think?

Hi,

Newbie here. I replaced my plugs, cap and rotor after I started to get a rough idle (my 1995 GMC C1500 3.7L has always idled so smooth I could balance my coffee cup on the dash at stop lights).

I added a cleaner to my full tank of gas thinking it might help clean the TBI injectors. It did not help. My truck is OBD 1. I must confess, I did not check the plug gaps on my replacements as they were all very near the .035"' out of the boxes.

I have been reading several troubleshooting approaches.

Including : Fuel filter replacement, Fuel pressure check (15psig), bad plug wire(s), vacuum leak, intake manifold gasket leak, MAF cleaning (is that the mass air flow unit? It can be cleaned?) and I also read that my truck has four O2 sensors.

Where would you start (electrical, fuel delivery or vacuum)?

Thanks for any help with this issue.

Well Imagein my first question is did did your symptom develop directly after the tune up?

A week later? If it started after you finished the tune up maybe recheck your work.

Might think about replacing the timing chain, could have extra play in the chain. I replaced mine in my 1995 Chevrolet 5.7L/350 K1500 around 200,000 miles.

How many miles on the engine/truck?

Thanks bigblok, after rechecking my work, I found an arching spark plug wire on #2 cylinder wire.

Idles smooth again. It threw me at first because on start up (cold) the idle was ok until I started to drive. I guess the richer mix on start up fooled me.

Thanks again

I wish I had some Clues as to what is going on with my 2500 series with the big block 454. Upon initial startup it just runs like crap s*** caca until it warms up and then the idle just smoothes out. But not before a few restarts anyone have any ideas as to what my issue might be?
