Changing the blue/green color of the dash lights in 2017 GMC Sierra

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

I've done some searching and mostly have only found comments about this but couldn't stumble across anyone actually doing it.

Has anyone successfully changed the blueish/greenish backlights in dash/radio back to red or even a different color?

I currently have an All Terrain 2014 with the red lights and I'm about to pickup a new 2017 All Terrain X and I'm kinda shocked at how disappointed I am with the blueish/greenish, even more so with red stitching in the seats and on the steering wheel.

So much to the point where it's making me consider just keeping my 14 haha.

Anyway, I appreciate and help or insight in advance.

Cheers!

hey Mouwser

check my build thread. i think the changing of interior lights starts on the second page.

there are lots of "how to" pics with getting things taken apart

when i changed my lights over i used a blue plastic 'gel' to cover the white LEDs to make them blue.

i'm toying with pulling everything out again and actually changing the LEDs to blue... mostly just to get some 'truck therapy' time

We can reprogram everything back to the other scheme IE the IPC and radio etc.

I currently looking at doing the same thing. I saw a post (with no pics) on how to remove the faceplates and blue tics and recover with transparent film.

Just go up to @bc-chris post above and click on his link. I believe that is what you want...
