What's the full tiresize? If it has a larger diameter then yes, to have the most accurate speedometer and odometer you should calibrate. If your tire isn't much bigger, and you can live with a speedo that's off a few mph at 75, then your fine leaving it.

Recalibrating shouldn't be necessary but if you're in the market for more performance a tuner would be what you want so you can adjust for the size and get some extra performance

Haha you are excused, a tune will simply reprogram your truck by remapping your engine parameters to make it produce more power on 87-89 octane and 91 octane mainly by advancing ignition timing and also will recalibrate for new gear ratios, bigger tires etc. As well as change your transmission they way you like such as different shift points and firmness. I use black bear performance, a very popular tuning company used on the forum. I run 89 octane gas with the 87-89 tune and I literally just programmed in an updated trans tune tonight! I have certain features modified such as active fuel management deleted (4cyl mode) and torque converter locking disabled for more linear power band especially up hills. Black bear will send you a programmer and then email you tune files based on your preferences. It's about $600 and they will give you all the tunes you want. Another route is to buy a programmer with premade tunes or "canned" tunes. It's not custom but works quite well and you can change parameters yourself. Usually $400-$500. As for the warranty, nobody actually knows. Seriously you'll hear yes and no answers so at the end of the day it's at your own risk.

Well, straight to the point on programming since I have experience with this at dealerships....if you bring it in to the dealer because you've attempted a tune and it didn't work and lets say maybe it locked the module or it won't run after you do the tune. We can see the last time the module calibration has been modified. We also compare the current calibrations to the available GM calibrations we download. This information is quickly evaluated by a engineer with the technical assistance center and the calibration file currently installed in your ECM is either going to come back as a factory calibration or an aftermarket calibration. Even if the file number of the calibration doesn't change.....it still won't hide the fact that it was modified. It will be seen. Just hope the tune goes well. Once it's spotted by the dealer it's then updated on the vehicle VIS that aftermarket calibrations have been installed and the warranty of the affected part is no longer valid. That's the way it's supposed to go. Do all dealers follow protocol....no....but a lot do. Just hope you get a slack dealer. [emoji23][emoji23]

Probably a good call. I would wait until your warranty is up. Not something I feel comfortable throwing out the window or chancing at this point.
