Doug Rosewood Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 I apologize if this is in the wrong section of the forum..anyway I'm a pretty avid hunter and last season the doe I ended up taking home leaked blood out of the bed and down the chrome bumper..it left a water type of stain on the bumper. Is there something I can do to remove it?
i82much Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 i would say keep shooting deer until the whole bumper looks that way.
O_J_Simpson Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 This stuff is to die for: https://www.amazon.com/Flitz-BP-03511-Fiberglass-1-76-Ounce/dp/B00MUG95UI/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1492395888&sr=8-5&keywords=flitz+metal+polish
CoachH Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Barkeeper's Friend should take it out. Make a light paste, polish, then rinse.
Doug Rosewood Posted April 17, 2017 Author Posted April 17, 2017 Thanks for the replies..its a really strange stain. You have to look close to seeit(I'm anal, and know its there so it bothers me). Anyway its not visible at all when the bumpers wet either lol
cbrsilv15 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Wash the chrome bumper, and then use a clay bar to clean any contaminants that are on the stain. Follow up if necessary with a metal polish to clean the surface.
gearheadesw Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 I thought this was going to be a paint scheme.
WIarcheryhunter Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Chrome polish and steel wool maybe. It took some surface rust off a bumper for me last year to polish again after process.
Doug Rosewood Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 Kind of a silly, question but how exactly do you use a clay bar? I've never used one in my life and in my mind I imagine wet sanding with a brick..thanks for the replys

You'll lubricate the area and then run the clay bar over it multiple times back and forth. Then wipe with a microfiber towel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Boardmember Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 The clay is putty-like in consistency. Not a brick.

Knead clay, move to another area, repeat
