2017 Speedo Calibrator, which brand??

Hey all,

Put on larger than stock tires on my truck (just 1" bigger....the size that should come from the factory really) but of course the speedo is off by 3 mph at 70 mph.

Need to find a tool that recalibrates the speedo. Not looking for a $400-600 tuner, just something that allows you to adjust the speedometer so it reads right. I keep forgetting about the speedo being off and worry I'm going to get a ticket when I think I'm doing 8-9 over (which they allow) and instead am going 11-12 over (which they'll ticket for).

So which brand do you recommend. For a 2017 Sierra 6.2 V8

Have the dealer do it. They did mine for 165 and it's still holds warranty

Good to know... I didn't think they'd touch this. Anyone else have the dealership do this for them?

$165 seems a bit steep though. I think I can remember my speedometer is slightly off for that price.

It might be steep but it won't affect warranty

Might be cheaper where you live. I'm in California where everything is more expensive

What dealership did you take it to? I'm in West Covina and wouldn't mind finding a dealer that'll re calibrate my speedo to fit for 35's.

Dealer will only calibrate to factory sizes, unless they do aftermarket mods. Hypertech is around 200 dollars

I did call the dealer that I bought the truck from, they said they have no way of doing it.

They probably do in reality but don't want too.

Not sure how they can void a warranty to recalibrating your speedo for slightly larger tires? Heck deals from coast to coast put aftermarket wheels/tires on their trucks BEFORE they sell them, because they can jack up the selling price for it. I can see doing a 4-6" lift and putting big off road tires on and saying it put more stress on the suspension and brakes, but I went up 1" on tire size and the wheels and tires I got are actually about 8 lbs lighter each, so there is no additional strain on any of the suspension or brakes.

So again, what can they attribute to voiding a warranty over from a speedo recalibration?
