4x4 transfer case recall on 2015 5.3L

Anyone else get a call from the dealership saying they have a recall for this? I complained about 6-8 months ago for it locking up when cold randomly.

Just took mine in but I don't have a recall notice from GM for it. Find it odd they called me around the same time my oil light hit 0%.

I actually just talked to a dealer about this today. My 2014 slt has this recall but sadly the recall expired on mar 31 for me. I was trying to find out exactly what the recall was. the service advisor was out to lunch and the person i spoke with had no idea. they only told me i had to do it before the base warranty expired. i asked for good will on it and got no answer which was a "we are not going to fix it" guess ill ask advisor during my appointment.

anyway does anyone have details on this recall? it just says truck will stay in 4x4 during cold weather. Which really doesn't give much detail

I believe this was something that was done to my 2015 when the previous owner had it. When I bought the truck the salesman printed me off a sheet that showed what services had been performed. I don't know anything beyond that. Hadn't heard of it before. Mines a 6.2 so I don't think it's limited to the 5.3.

This is the first that I have heard of it. I had a 2015 and just sold it. I want to notify the new owner if there was a recall which I did not get notification.

Are we talking about the recall, that came out last year, or maybe even the previous year? TC lock up due to cold temps?

I'm not sure, I never got that recall. I tried to find a link for that recall/TSB and couldn't find anything. I'm going to ask for a print out and or details when I pick the truck up.

That is not a recall but a service update.

An auto recall occurs when a manufacturer (or the NHTSA) determines that a car model (or several models) has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal safety standard. When this happens, the automaker will alert owners to the problem and usually offer a free repair.

They did mine when I was in for an oil change. Not a recall but a tsb.

Can't be a recall. Recalls are for safety items and do not expire until the truck does.

yea im not sure about if its a "recall" i talked to gm 2 weeks ago and they told me I had 3 to complete. I got to the dealer and they told me one had expired
