I finally took my truck in and had the front windows tinted to match the rear windows. I my opinion it looks better and will also help keep the cab cooler and protected from the sun.

Its only a fix it ticket.

 

20% matches the factory rears.

Matches even better with 50-60% overlayed on the factory rears.

A "fix it" ticket? I'm assuming it's a fine and possible inspection to ensure it's removed?

Mine is matched 20% also, love it. Also a fix it ticket where I live, but have never had an issue with any of my vehicles.

Always get mine tinted to match, it is amazing how much it helps with the heat and can't go wrong with the look either....I did add a sunband this time best decision I made...tent shop charged like $15 for it.

That usually means take it off and show up to court and the charge will be dropped. Problem is it is a legit reason for them to pull you over so be careful.

f*ck that man its illegal where i live also but it looks awesome i tinted mine as dark as possible and the windshield its only a $39 ticket and in 6 years iv only gotten 2 more or less they use it for a reason to pull you over to see if more serious stuff is going on

Yeah, they ticket you and you have to have it removed and inspected to be signed off on. No fine if you fix it.

If sucha situation were to arise... my tint guy charges $100 to remove the old tint, allow you to get it signed off on and then reinstall the same type of tint. :)

20% all 4 doors, 20% brow on the SLT (mine)

20% front doors, 20% brow on Denali (moms)

 

Soo much cooler down south, and looks good

20% over factory on rear 5% up front and brow. Rear are tech like 4% but they match to the naked eye. Was a bit concerned my old eyes wouldn't be able to see at night but no issues just thank God for backup cameras lol0a109886af53c99389ded76054119d1b.jpg

20% front windows and eyebrow. For anyone tinting your truck, the eyebrow helps huge when driving into the sun! Plus it looks awesome!

Had Mine done and it looks great and helps keep cool. The guy did 15% on mine. Unfortaintly two weeks after i got it done, My dog scratched it with his nails, so now my passenger side has a gash it in. I never get mad at dog, but that pushed my limits pretty far. haha

So jealous of you guys! I had to go VA legal as ALL cops from State, County and town just watch for that and hate tint. I mean they hate it so bad it's your pulled over and given orders by loudspeaker to roll your windows down and everyone place your hands outside the window as the Trooper approaches your vehicle. I ran the dark stuff when I was young and was even given a ticket while parked at a car crash that I responded to in my truck. He worked the wreck then gave me a ticket.

      Thanks everyone for the help!   I'm going to stop into the scales one of these days and weigh my axels, for the time being, I am going to run Toyo's recommendations and also do a chalk test. I have a tire shop that's going to try their scanner to reprogram and set the the factory psi values lower, and if they can't I'm going to order a scanner and do it myself!

      You won’t do better than stock exhaust without headers. Just put your favorite muffler on it and it will do the job.

      I have seen different people in different places post different sizes of exhaust as stock for my 2014 Sierra L83. Some say 2.5 some say 2.75. I am considering replacing the muffler with a Dynomax Super Turbo, perhaps 17739.  I had the factory L83 5.3 replaced with another L83 5.3 from Jasper Engines. I also put new Walker Cat / Y pipe on. I would appreciate opinions suggestions about what would be a good muffler setup. My main interest is a low rumble and the best flow / fuel mileage I can get. Not interested in straight through glass packs or loud exhaust. Those days are way behind me now.  Thanks Guys.

      Its coolant disguised as oil.   TSB 20-NA-166 -  20-NA-166 1..3   "To inspect for this concern, add coolant dye to the system, run the engine through warm up, pressurize the cooling system after warming the engine to operating temperature (let the engine cool overnight) and inspect the suspect cylinder with a borescope for coolant dye evidence. At times it may be necessary to remove the head for inspection. If the head casting line is the concern, the intake port will be wet with a coolant oil mix"     I'd say its the head, and its either leaking at the casting line and dripping down the intake into the cylinder, or its another spot on the casting itself at the cylinder that is getting wet.

      Can you sample the pooled liquid, enough to confirm it is oil?   ...That its not fuel or coolant.   Also, make sure combustion gases aren't entering the cooling system.   Simply put, either oil being pushed up past the rings (this really isn't possible), oil leaking past the head gasket, oil leaking past the valve, oil entering through the intake air path. If none of this is likely - it may not be oil.   What could be likely is the fuel injector leaking down. A puddle of gas would still smoke and rough idle. (Same cylinder has the same problem after injector replacement?)   What is the crank time first thing in the morning, when the puddle would be present? Does it seem like the high pressure fuel pump needs an extra second or two to rebuild the pressure that injector 8 may have let bleed off? Check the fuel pressure via a scanner prior to starting the engine.
