Factory order........how long does it really take?

Well seems as though they need to do a factory order, they cannot locate anything locally within the same price range. So my question is how long does it really take to get a factory order delivered to Ontario Canada. I know they have to manufacture it in Mexico......so.....? Anyone out there have one completed this way?

Ordered mine 1/24/17 and was driving it 3/18/17. (Mexico to Seattle area).

Isn't May a little late to be ordering? When I ordered in 2007 GM canceled my order on Memorial Day weekend (last weekend of May)...... "Tooling up for 2008's"............ And they are taking some extra weeks to tool for 2019's.........

Final production cycle is 5/25/17 for retail 2017 model year. OP if you are looking for a 2017, your time is short and or may be out already. 2018 is carryover except for a couple paint colors. The shutdown is to retool for the 2019 new truck and help burn off inventory. 2018 starts production July.

Just talked to the dealership and order it is......I've asked them about the pending shut down, awaiting their response now. Fingers crossed.

They will stop orders well before the shutdown as once they re-tool they will be making the new models or the 2018.

So if they are still taking orders then they feel they can get the builds done before the shutdown.

Ordering one of the last ones on the assembly line right before the next generation gets built, couldn't do it.

I realize in the real world there a long wait time between the two.

I hate the feeling of buying a nice new car and then bam, they remodel and you no longer have the latest and greatest.

Last off the assembly line would urk the hell out of me.

The 17 sierra and silverado with the led headlights will be fresh looking for a number of years compared to the majority of the vehicles on the road. Similar to the first few cars that came out with HID's then LED running lights. Still looks good 5+ years later.

If I had a choice......thing is I've waited for over a year to buy a new truck. As much as I like the new Titan they chose to not have an option of a sunroof (deal breaker), and the mileage out of them is not a whole lot different from my current Titan (another deal breaker). Toyota's IMHO are a mess, Ford and Ram are not far off total redesigns, so I do not have too much choice.......

I recently ordered a yukon XL Denali and it was here in 5 weeks. Dealer said it was the fastest they ever saw also. Then they blew up the deal and I left the truck there!

I ordered my Silverado LTZ Jan. 18,2017 from the Ft. Wayne plant. It was delivered to me in California on March 22.

There was a substantial delay due to it's spray-on bed liner.

9 weeks of waiting seemed like 6 months!

It does come......eventually.

Yea might be good advice to skip the OEM bed liner for a couple reasons - adds to the wait time - not as thick as Line-X.

Do over again I would - and maybe leave off all the "Driver Alert Package" nannies - They go off all the time - only one I really like is the intellibeam automatic high-beam headlights. Switched off the lane keep assist. Switch off the park assist all the time especially when hooking up to a trailer. Collision warning has popped up 3 times false alarms when approaching a car in a turn lane next to me quickly - about scares you to death. The driver alert seat is just weird. Who knows - maybe the low speed automatic braking will save my bacon - or not...

Then put the money towards power steps or OEM Borla exhaust...........
