Why didn't the 16,17 Sierras get the new front end from the 1500?

The Chevy HD stayed the same as well. GMC did go to HID lighting however. I think the new engine had something to do with the lack of changes.

They did get a new front end the change was just not as drastic as the Silverodo got.

Headlights, the top of the grill dropped to look like a mock scoop.

Then the bumper was changed to house the LED lights there is a couple slight angle changes as well.

I think the 14,15 were selling so well they didn't want to go to big on the change.

Also, you have to look @ production numbers. Less vehicles sold to spread the tooling costs over. Look @ the Chev & GMC bumpers. Chevs w/o fog lights get a plain bumper. GMCs w/o fog lights get 2 crummy looking black plastic pieces to fill the unused holes in the bumper.

It's not necessary to make 2 different dies for the GMC, but there is a cost involved to make it possible to stamp out the 2 different versions.

HD. The 1/2 ton changed yes, the HD did not. OP was wondering why the HD didn't get the 1500 face.

They havr to differentiate between 1500 and 2500. They make the 2500 front end look bigger.
