A/C Not Blowing cold.

Im sure this issue has risen before...I got my truck used from a Chevy dealer with 45k on it about a year ago, yesterday the A/C was blowing warm. I now have around 58k on my truck and I brought it to my local mechanic and he said it was low on refrigerant. He said there was already dye in the system so this was already an issue for the previous owner but could not pin point the leak. It is A small leak since I drove the truck for A year and the A/C only blowing warm yesterday. With that being said is there anything you guys have in mind as into what the issue is? He filled it back up and it blows cold now but just knowing that there is still a leak really bothers me.

it has a leak somewhere. you need to find out where. we cant diagnose that over the internet.

Thanks. I was hearing more towards what hoses/components usually more common to leak...

I assume this is your truck? http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/154469-post-pics-of-your-2014/?p=1835699

Two big cuplrits on K2 ac problems. Bad compressor to condenser hose. The new one requires a bracket for added support. The other culprit is the AC condenser. The tubing at the condenser cracks or somewhere in the condenser body itself I forget where. Replacement condensers are on a major backorder from GM and all aftermarket sources right now.

84211191 for the condenser, and 23438932 and 23264893 for the hose and bracket. If you end up needing the condenser, prepare to wait. We are two weeks in for one for a customer with ZERO ETA from GM.

I wonder if an aftermarket condenser would almost be better off since it is not a gm genuine part and might not have the same flaws..

My condenser has a leak too - just like everybody else. I'm not taking this lightly - I (and you) cannot even take your vehicle to anybody to get it fixed because the parts do not exist. My understanding (after grilling every Chev dealer for miles around and, I think, scaring the b'geezus out of a poor parts guy) is that the condenser models originally used have been scrapped. It's been redesigned and they are making them like crazy. I call Chevy customer service everyday and they call me a lot too. I have given them an ultimatum to get this fixed (on their dime because I've already paid for the part if it ever arrives, and $110 for a dealer to 'diagnose' the problem they already knew existed.) If it's not fixed, I'm going class action. Same thing happened to Honda a few years ago and they paid for a LOT of condensers that folks thought were out of warranty.

If it was a simple, few hundred dollar fix and taken care of in a few days, I wouldn't have cared. But the part that used to be $200-ish online is now $350 through a dealer because nobody else can get them. AND, the best guess Chev can give me is I'll have my condenser in about 6 months (thus, the calls to them daily to tell them how much I hate driving a black truck in 90 degree weather with no AC--they love me, I'm growing on them I think.) One guy did tell me that 'maybe' they're just saying 6 months so people don't 'worry.' HUH? That's why I called a class action attorney. Done with this BS. I will say though, that anybody who has this going on needs to call Chev Customer Service - they know their culpability in this and while they haven't confirmed, it sounds like they will be picking up the $1200 repair bill.

Has anybody attempted a braze repair? My leak looks like it would be easy to seal floss back into shape? At least temporarily.
