Puddle Lamps only come on at night and when you unlock your doors (with key fob) or open your door. It turns off after a few seconds of closing your doors. It kind of operates like the dome but is independent. It will not come with the dome lamp switch.

Here is a pic of the circuit in the BCM. Far left grey connector. Bottom right corner of the connector (solid grey cable). Ignore the diode.

Tie it in with the cargo lamps and problem solved. The wires are right there so no need to go hunting them down

Do you know the exact place for the cargo lamp wires?

Do you have the bed lights? That's what I tied mine into, they come on with the cargo light. I can take a pic of each side when I get a chance today

I'm assuming there are two grey solid wires, we are taking about the thicker solid grey wire of the two right? The smaller one seems to have grey and strip black of some sort. I was reading some of the other posts, and this wires seems to be the dome light is it not?

The solid (thicker) grey cable in Pin slot # 1 is the dome lamp circuit. The thinner grey wire with a light green stripe is the Puddle lamp. The Puddle lamp is Pin Slot # 8. Counting from right to left in the view above. If you want to the he Puddle lamp, you'll want the thinner grey wire with green stripe.

I plan on tapping the puddle light when I do my step lights. It makes the most sense. They will only come on when needed and no other system will turn them on.

Did mine this morning, and the puddle lights will NOT turn off. 1 is a grey wire and 8 is a green wire, from what I can tell. I have more wires in my grey plug, than what you have shown here.

So the puddle Lamps stay on after the dome lamp turns off?

That is odd.. I'll look into this when I am back home. Can you PM me pics of the back side of the connector? Also let me know what year and trim your truck is.

The electrical system could have just had a brain fart. Seems common on these K2's. Mine has hiccups occasionally.

LOL. All good. As long as it works now... I can stop fishing for the red herring.
