Rear lift block install wrong

hey guys, last night I put on my 3" rear block. only when I put it on I left the stock 1.25" block there. It seemed like the stock block was needed to hold the leafs together and keep them lined up since it had a bolt that ran through it.

 

did I do it right? or should I remove the stock one and just run the 3" block with nothing running through the leafs?

Dealer did mine, but all thats under there is the 2" block they put. I'm pretty sure the blocks are meant as replacements for the factory block, not meant to be stacked...

so what holds the leafs in place? the aftermarket block doesn't have the pin that runs through the leafs like the stocker does.

Definitely should not stack. Your rear end struts are over extended now, bet it rides rough.

Ride is the same. Im just wondering how the leafs stay together if i take out the stocker

Stock block isn't bolted to the leaf.

The blind is definitely leading the blind in this thread. It's called a center pin and that's what lines the axle up with the leafs. If you like the ride height, leave it. If not pull the stock block. What kind of truck do you have that has struts on the back?

No kidding. Make sure to get a block that has a center pin on one side and center pin hole on the other. Since your using a 3" block, you probably should look into using a block that is tapered as well . Also my suggestion don't stack blocks.

ahh I figured it out. the stock block was real stuck in the leaf pin it looked like it was all 1 piece. I was able to smack the block off the leaf pin and its all good now. thanks guys
