DING??? DING???

I have had this happen a few times right after start up. I noticed that I got a ding at every gear change (8 speed). I think there may have also been dings from hitting the radio or a/c controls, but its been so long that I can't say for sure. It would quit dinging in less than a minute.

This just happened to my wife today. 2016 2500 HD High Country Diesel. Got fuel, and dinging started after she left the gas station. Her purse was in the passenger seat. Told her to remove her purse from the seat. She also shut the truck off, and restarted. I should have told her to do one, then the other, to see what fixed it, but didn't think that fast. Didn't do it again, so not sure what the issue is.

I've noticed that the whole "system" can sometimes exhibit a lot of lag.

Quick example: I use the lock delay option which allows me to press the lock button on the door once and put it in a "delay" mode. The locks won't activate until all doors have been closed for five seconds. I can open any door again before that happens and the timer resets.

Sometime, I get a quick acknowledgement chime from the truck after pressing the button. Sometimes, that chime doesn't happen for up to five or six seconds afterward.

I wonder if the random "Ding" isn't random at all, but rather a ding that should have happened sooner and simply didn't because of the way this crappy software is written.

Justa FYI....if the passenger plugs their seatbelt into the middle buckle instead of their own....

Yes sounds like the weight sensor for the passenger seat.

You should see the seat belt light on.
