Just started looking at trucks and ran across a nice 2017 3500 hd denali diesel and was wondering what a good price is. The sticker is 72k.never bought an American truck so I dont have any clue how gm set thier msrp. Is it a joke or do the trycks actually sell for close to msrp?

20% off sticker should be your goal around 57,600.00 We are coming up on the July 4th sales and truck sales are down. GOOD time to get a deal. How much cash you got? Your not planning on complicating the deal with a tradein are you?

Right now they are offering

Factory Reduction Below MSRP 1 - $4,735

Expires : 6/30/17

Select Model Purchase Cash 2 - $1,250

Expires : 6/30/17

Which is about 8% off. So I guess I should wait till July 4th sales.

Got my '16 silverado 2500 ltz crew cab with MSRP of $57k+ at just around $49k... and I complicated it with a trade-in :smash:

Go to www.kbb.com and build your truck exactly as you either like or the one on the lot is equipped. Take a look at the MSRP and the Invoice. I generally like to purchase somewhere a little less than invoice. Dealer still gets a profit, I feel it's a fair price point for negotiations. Supplier discount is generally a little less than invoice but varies by vehicle.

Only spot I can't make this work is if a vehicle is in high demand (brand new model with limited availability or something similar).

So, on a 72k MSRP, I'd guess invoice to be around 66-67k. So, I'd probably shoot for 65ish...

Ouch man sorry to hear that, at 14% off MSRP they pocketed some spare change ($3,400.00) on your deal. The tradein is probably what got you. Have you already signed, is it to late to undo the deal?

Well my trade-in was no bargain for them. They gave me $19k for a mustang that was in a bad accident. I was happy with the deal, mainly bc i was surprised they were taking the mustang. there was a pretty loud squeak coming from the front end on cold starts when the wheel was being turned. not sure they sold that thing too easily

They're not as happy to give away 2500/3500HD pickups. I got $10K off our new 3500HD LTZ 6.0 (MSRP $59K) plus a new unicover topper (have to order it yet) and Line-X bedliner thrown in on the deal.

They are not willing to budge from there advertised price of 63,335

MSRP Before Offers $69,320

Factory Reduction Below MSRP 1 - $4,735

Expires : 6/30/17

Select Model Purchase Cash 2 - $1,250

Expires : 6/30/17

Price after all offers** $63,335

Total Value $

66050 (9% below msrp)

O well I don't need anything close to the size of a 3500 dulley. Just thought it looked bad ass and could get a great deal on it. I have to assume the profit on a Denali is higher than normal. Maybe if they still have it when the 18s start arriving I'll try again

Car dealers rarely loose money. Probably took it to auction or peddled it to a Furd dealer. I use to work for a used car dealer many years ago and we got all our cars from oem dealers. They were calling us weekly with vehicles they were wholesaling. We take them back from IL to MI and sell them.

If those are gmc discounts, then there should be some dealer discount possible too I'd think.

Well whatever they did, I'm positive it wasn't as easy as they thought it would be. They test drove the car after it had warmed up, so there was no creaking noise. I know that when I had gone back the next week to drop off the second key, they had it on the lot in the front for sale.

Never seen Laura GMC have so little postings for 6.6L Denali 2500HD/3500HD on their site as I do right now.

There's next to nothing. Interesting.
