Do you wear boxer briefs or panties.

I'm kidding. I think the ride would be more comfortable with lowering rear. But less manly. But seriously.

Do you hang pictures and paintings in your home with 2" of rake?

Pictures and paintings aren't hauling and towing either. The rake is there so when you're hauling or towing enough of a load that the truck levels out from the weight. If the truck is level with no load or trailer then when you do haul or tow the rear end will look like it's squatting. If you don't use a truck as a truck then I guess a level is fine.

My truck and my dad's truck both have the rear lowered 3 inches. To me it's a personal preference. I like the look of trucks leveled up front but personally wouldn't do it to my truck. I would rather have them lowered.6c6739f135c9ab2116d22defeafa0453.jpg068735ea2c1661c1fad9b3c8ce5303ba.jpg

Funny how quick people are to throw out the "use a truck as a truck" line. It's a half ton Silverado, not a mac truck. Just because your not hauling around gear all the time doesn't mean you can't own a pickup truck.

I did Eibach leveling struts on my truck. Raised the front 1" and removed the 1" rear block. I thought it was perfect. Still cleared 305/50r20's.

That's great. No one said you can't use your truck that way. But the hardos are quick to judge those who don't.

Well I personally don't agree with buying a truck just so you can't basically say you have a truck. I don't think you have to haul or tow everyday, but it's the people that have a truck and then are scared or hate to actually use it to tow or haul. I'm not going to use a truck that's not great on gas mileage compared to car just to daily drive and go to the grocery store. I've only owned full size Chevy trucks and I love using them as a truck and sure as hell ain't cared to use it rather it's to haul, tow or use it to pull.

Looks like you took my other comment personal or you got your panties all in a bunch from it. I actually want a rake on a truck for when I do use it for what it's built to do. I don't want to level the truck and then when I haul real weight the truck squats and doesn't look right. So again I'll say, if you actually use it then keep the rake but if you only use it to haul groceries and people then a level doesn't effect it. I'm also not saying you can only buy a truck to use it, it's your money, I'm just giving my opinion.

I like the looks, but I won't sacrifice looks for function. So I'm a function over form person, but if I can have both then I'll do that.

I agree with this. I love the look of my truck and have always wanted a Silverado. Do I haul or tow? No, not at all. The bed of my truck is just as pristine as the day I bought it. Doesn't mean I can't drive a truck and customize it to the way I like. It's a free country...

To stay on topic: I decided to level the front as I wanted to gain some extra clearance for my larger tires. I also felt the truck rod lower than most stock trucks from "the other guys." The 2" level up front made a big enough difference that I am happy with and would go that route again.

People are always fun and ignorant. My truck is lowered 7" in the rear and still could be used to haul over 1500 lbs if necessary. It's all in how you build your ride. I personally cannot stand lifted trucks. But that's why it's my truck and I built it how I wanted.

I'd say a front leveling kit is easier to install than rear shackles from a mechanical point of view.

I've seen lowered trucks haul and tow heavy stuff so I know it's all about setup. But, over 99% of leveled trucks don't have helper air bags in the rear so they end up squatting if they have real weight in the bed or hooked up to the hitch.
