On day 7. Called them this morning and they are still waiting on the cable. Said it SHOULD be here today.

I have killed my 2015's battery about 10 times over the last two winters because i dont drive the truck in the winter salt. Even being dead for weeks at -30c, it will still hold a charge for a month without starting it even with the anti rust gimmick. I have a hard time believing that peoples batteries are causing these issues, I have never put a battery through so much hell and I load tested this spring before using it again and it is fine. My 6L80e has some issues in a 2014 I have, but they sound different that yours, mine is slamming itself into 2nd gear while driving and locks itself in there until I clear the code. Does it in the same spot on my commute every time. Now I know why to stay away from the first MY of the new platforms.

mine gets stuck in 3rd gear about 2 times a year. all the dealer does it reset the computer and it takes it. other than that i have no problems besides the horrible trans tuning shifting like hell. I want to tune it so bad but idk about my issues losing my warranty

I was literally fixing to pull the trigger on a tune based on the positive feedback for the 8 speed shifting. I can't do it for fear of something else going wrong.

1 more time and the truck is gone.

They called me yesterday evening and said they were going to order a battery ground cable and try that.

Mine was a bad ground from the engine to the fram they just took it off and cleaned up where it bolted down to and retightened it

interesting, i should check my negative cable and engine ground

i would check all not just a few

more than one ground wire to frame, there are several from what I understand.

It has been a solid week of no check engine light. Pulled the boat 2 times this weekend and everything went good.

I still hate the trans and the way it shifts though.

I noticed the other day that I there was a shudder from 2-3 or 3-4. It literally feels like about a second of rumble strips on the highway.

So today it done it several times. I thought well, just maybe I'm hitting some spots on the road. Nope, wife definitely feels the same thing and it got worse today. It even does it cruising 55-60 in 8th. Thoughts?

I'm going to call Monday and make another appointment for Thursday, on my day off, to take it in. Meanwhile I will probably test drive a 2500.

The tech was able to reproduce the shudder. They ordered a torque converter and will work on it next week.

Finally! I don't have but about 15 miles on the new converter but man, this thing shifts so nice now.

I hope this one holds up.

Back to this dead thread...

Dealership just called and said the battery caused all of this. Said a low voltage battery will cause the trans to go in a limp mode.

Anyone heard of this?

yep, my Range AFM Disabler drained my battery just enough to make the truck freak out. Transmission had a mind of its own and had a few different messages about stabillitrack on the display. Went away after charging the battery back up.

    • Some clarification may help with some of these issues.   - Rev Industries is/was the division of BAK (now Realtruck) that makes covers under the OEM names.  So if you see one with a Ford logo on it, or if you are buying the GM Accessories cover, you are essentially buying a BAK G2 cover with different branding.   - Rev Industries now markets under RealTruck "Advantage."   - As of May 1, 2025, the Advantage covers now have a 5 year warranty.  Anything before that was a 36/36K warranty.   - Parts for the covers are available from Realtruck or BAK.  The email address to reach them is [email protected] or you can call them at 818-365-9000   - If the entire cover has to be replaced, you have to go through your local GM dealer.  Service dept opens an RO, notes the damage and submits it as a warranty claim.  Keep your paperwork handy so they can confirm when you purchased it and it's within the warranty timeframe.  Once the warranty claim is approved, Parts orders the replacement cover.  When it arrives at the dealership, service will remove and install the new one for free as labor is included under warranty.   - The Advantage covers are not the latest and greatest Gen 3 covers.  They still use the old school clamps, elevator bolts, etc...If you want the newer technology, consider buying your cover in the aftermarket world.  That way, if you have an issue you can deal directly with the manufacturer.   - Finally, RealTruck has a program with many of their authorized dealers that doubles the warranty to 10 years if the authorized dealer does the install.     Hope this helps.
    • Welcome to the group!  My '22 just crossed 150K miles.  Runs perfectly.  Oil pump belt will be done in the next 30 days or so and onward hopefully for another 150K.  Love the truck.
    • Still looks like a rivet to me in the pics, I don't see a nut and none of the pics show the head of the screw. But if you says so.....
    • Thanks for all the help so far!   I did try right from 2026 right down to 2021, and only from 2023 down lets me select the option for tire psi change, but I get the vehicle not supported error!   I'll definitely try it under Chevrolet after work today, and I'll get the sensor number from gm for my truck tire sensors. And I'll let you know if it works for me under Chevrolet!   And if that doesn't work, I'm going to guess that what @Atlas said about maybe I have a different body control module could be true!
    • From where I'm sitting this sounds like a compatibility problem. I'm assuming the 2007 was a 900-series truck, and not an 800-series (they were sold side-by-side in dealerships that model year), since it starts and runs.   This is why I HATE post-2006 vehicles. Everything becomes a huge problem when you try to keep the thing running for longer than the manufacturer has designed it to.    I can't remember when Global-A architecture started - either '10 or '11. For your sake, you had better hope it's '11, or you're going to be spending some BIG money to correct this cluster-eff. That's something you need to find out before doing anything else. You may have several computers bricked ... but the fact that it runs tells me you MIGHT be ok here.     EDIT: Just did a quick refresher. You're screwed. This is Global-A. The 2 systems are NOT compatible in the slightest. Once you get the correct engine in there that IS compatible, you're going to need to see how many computers are locked. Absolute NIGHTMARE to straighten out, too. Your buddy might be better off cutting his losses and finding something else.   Welcome to post-2006 vehicle electronics. This is why I quit the industry, and drive nothing built after 1994. This stuff takes all the fun out of wrenching!
