I know they all can have problems, but you'd think Furd would pick a good one for PR purposes. I know. I know. But Furd really is a 4-letter word.

Press vehicles get the crap beaten out of them, no surprise they broke down.

And if you want people to take you seriously and not think you're some 13 y/o fanboy, don't intentionally misspell the name. Stupid.

Geez when did the off topic section get so serious? Chill, Peace and all that. Thought it was supposed to be a fun section.

Mike, be nice. You ain't no saint yourself when it comes to spelling and grammar.

Loved the part where they zoomed in on the front license plate cover. But Mike is correct, press vehicles get the crap beat out of them. However- given that this was a heavy duty truck with less than 10,000 miles on it, it should have been able to have a lot more crap beat out of it before a major failure. Who knows though what was done to it prior, someone could have purpously damaged the fan, or it could simply be a bad plastic casting when it was made.

I'm inclined to agree, it was likely a flawed fan casting (although from what they showed, i'm inclined to think the fan hub where it attaches to the water pump failed.) ; and when they were calling for maximum cooing on that grade, the hub casting failed, which caused the fan to fall down inside the shroud while still spinning at 4,000 RPM, and when it hit the bottom, it started tearing blades off, which damaged the belt and radiator. either that, or the fan wasn't properly tightened at the assembly plant in Louisville.

Making fun of this, yet there is at least one 2017 Duramax that was toast in less than 10k miles, and thread upon thread of chronic issues in these trucks. And the thread on the power steering that is so sloppy towing a trailer is next to impossible. What happened to that Ford again?

Dodge and Ford forums are the same way...they all brand-hate. And not one is better than the other...

the engine driven fan failed, cutting the serpentine belt, and puncturing the radiator. my theory is that the fan hub casting was flawed, or the hub wasn't properly tightened at the assembly plant. and as Mike mentioned, Press Vehicles are beaten half to death in a VERY short time.

Remember reading about the same thing happening to the 2014 and up Cummmins when I owned one. Big ole fans just tend to let go.

Are they really idiots or are they just acting like idiots? Look at the video at 2:25 and you see coolant flowing into the road way. They proceed to act like they don't know what is wrong and all the gauges are good.
