Weird question about memory seats

I think you might have to turn it on in settings on the radio.

I'm pretty sure I did this on my truck. I know I did on my wife's car. Because if I grab her keys, going back to her seat position is downright dangerous!

My 2015 programs the seat settings to the key fob, when I set it, I had each key in and truck running and it works. You do have to turn it on in the settings also. If I have my door closed the buttons are one touch and with door open you have to hold button down. I cant try it with truck moving as mine and my wife's settings are to far apart and it would crush me into steering wheel because Im 6'4" and 250# and my wife is 4'11" 98# so it could be painful to mix the settings up.

What setting are you guys turning on to make the seats respond to the corresponding remote? I'm assuming it's "auto memory recall" (which is what the manual says) but my memory seats do not respond unless I push the button on the door or put the key in and turn it on.

Since the better half is 5' and I'm 6'3 I would much prefer to press the remote and have the seats respond as they should.

Same here - it's key in and ignition on before the seats move. Grab the wife's keys and holey cow. I think the having to hold the button is about safety of rear seat occupants............

this was a pain in my truck... 1/2 seat preset for each key.... when i bought it i had 2 keys... when trying to program the first key for me, and the 2nd for wife... found out .. my original fob was fob 3..wtf.... so i had to use my spare key which was labeled fob 2... ..i set it and forgot it... but it was a pain... . seats only move when i start the truck. ..and turn it back of to the exit position..

On my 16 LTZ you can set it to recall with the " key in "setting in the DIC or yes by holding the button. I haven't tried double tapping the buttons

I just upgraded my 2015 Silverado LT to a 2017 GMC Sierra AT with memory seats. My question for those of u with memory seats do you have to hold the 1 or 2 button until the seat reaches the save position? I have a 15 Acadia Denali and a Lexus ES with this feature and they both are a one press and release and the seat does its thing until it at the set position. But my AT doesnt want the extra attention until it finishes moving the seat

on another note, I just had a third key made for $65.00. (You must have both keys you were given) to make the spare, otherwise they have to use their computer to program. Anyway the 3rd key can also be programmed for the seats, mirrors etc. Don't know how to do it but the dealer said you can, and I saw the dash recognize the key as 3rd driver.
