Kicker Powered Subwoofer

Has anyone installed this in their crewcab? Specifically someone with the Bose system. What does it sound like over the Bose?

My dealership accessory dept has it for $1170 installed. Not that excited about that price, more interested in knowing what it sounds like since I'm sure it's available cheaper elsewhere.

30-40% higher than you should pay

Lots of posts about the Kicker setup if you use the "search" at the top of the forum. Varying opinions. I have the non Bose setup and enjoy the enhancement with the Kicker sub & amp setup. I wasn't pleased with the price, but in the end I was able to work with my local dealership Service/Parts manager on a better price. Still was very expensive, and if you want something to rattle the windows, build your own setup. In the end, it will probably be cheaper too, but won't be plug and play.

I have it. It works really good IMO. It is easy to install, mostly. You can do it. I have installed it on 2 trucks. The second truck rather than running the wire through the dumb grommet I soldered some extra wire and came in through the floor under the carpets with a grommet.

Thank you! Now I can search for it elsewhere, unless I feel like giving away money to the dealership.

I bought mine off of eBay but it was brand new. I think it was $575 or there abouts.

If you have the 6.2 they will tell you that it will not work. It will but you have to cut a certain wire to kill the noise cancellation system. I did. No complaints.

There are several models out there for the Kicker system.

With amp, without amp, with Bose, without Bose.

The important factor for me getting this versus custom - Plug and Play, self installable, retains warranty.

LOL I'm just poking fun at you since you added %. It's no big deal.

I have the Bose system w/o the factory sub and this was a great add-on. The installation is fairly easy and straight forward. The biggest PITA was getting the power through the firewall...lol.. If you have the time and money, I would definitely recommend it. If you run into problems PM and I'll try and help you out.

I have it also on a non Bose truck. I have a rather lengthy audio history. I will say that the full set up with the amp/sound processor for the highs and the sub set up work REALLY good! I am beyond pleased. It does seem high in price, but if you were to got to your local audio shop and try to add a GOOD highs amp and a box, sub, and amp, with all the necessary wiring and interfaces, would bet it going to be close if not more. With less warranty.

x2 - easy install, just getting those wires fed through the firewall is a PAIN!

I installed in my 17 Sierra double cab. All in all very pleased with the sound over Bose, price point sucks but it is a very straight forward install. I managed to find one used, So and was able to order a replacement harness through Kicker directly. The hardest part was running the power cable through the firewall, because the fuse box that partially blocks the opening. All in all it is a very clean sounding set up.
